this was my war.
i chose this path and such soldiers to follow
without question from feilds of gray asphalt to blows.
and sorry, i committed, ordered in wave after wave
they were not innocent, they were not
warriors they were children misled.
now they stand humbled, what few still stand on there own.
this was my war.
on my conviction alone they fought well
they never asked me, can we win this,
they just stood up.
after, we left fingers and toes and peices of souls
all whose bodies still walk the earth
with heads held high, but only by streetlight
this was my war.
in my town, we all lose
we all fall victim to habits and whores
but not for long , not anymore
after this the streets are cold and alone
these armies, i fear, will not be seen here again.
this was my war.
and i am to blame.
