[OOC] HEADSPACE + CANON /o/

Eventually I will do one of these for each character I play! But we just got STUPID COUSIN so we've been hashing some stuff out. (SHURI LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO CONTRIBUTE, K)

Okay, so one thing that IS canonically established is that the Oaks are a very famous and well-known family in the 07-Ghost world; a lot of Hakuren's ~family issues~ stem from his father not wanting to lose face for the "noble Oak name." Shuri's father is an Admiral (or a General; the specific word they use is "Gensui," which is actually the same word that D.Grayman translates as General, so!) and in a position of signifigant power, hence why no one has tossed Shuri out the windo-- oh, wait.

--but more seriously, we don't know exactly what Hakuren's father's position is, though from the looks of things in Hakuren's flashbacks, his father is part of the political side of the Oak family. (At the same time, Kuroyuri and Haruse recognized Hakuren as an Oak, despite him not saying his name AND being in acolyte's robes.) He is, in Hakuren's own words, "a man without a human heart or love" -- this was a man who was willing to let his wife's soul be dragged into darkness just to save public face, and wouldn't divorce her to avoid the scandal.
MOVING ON, THEN, HEADCANON
- Shuri's father and Hakuren's are brothers; Shuri's father is the elder, and they are the "main" family in the military.
- Hakuren, however, is older than Shuri. Not by much -- six months, tops! -- but this is enough to make him sort of. Responsible for Shuri. They were stuck together a lot whenever the families met, ostensibly as playmates, but more like Shuri ordering Hakuren around and PITCHING A FIT when things didn't go his way. Thankfully, about half the time, he still didn't get his way, since Hakuren was the elder and still an Oak.
- They've been mistaken for brothers before. It drives Hakuren nuts.
- Hakuren left home around the age of 11, following another terrific fight with his father about his mother's "miraculous" recovery. Some of the stuff said during that fight was stuff that neither side could easily take back, and is what cemented his determination to NOT follow the traditional paths of the Oak family.
- Surprisingly good with small animals and little children. It's only when they get older that he starts sniping and pulling out the superiority card.
- Regardless of how much his cousin DRIVES HIM UP THE WALL, Hakuren ... does feel responsible for Shuri! So while he's all very "yeah toss him back in the lake" and snickers a bit at Shuri's pain, he ... will pick Shuri up and dust him off and tell him BE AN OAK DAMNIT after the beatings end. :\
- Hakuren secretly reads really cheesy sci-fi style fiction. He hides it as guiltily as most people would hide their porn.
