Late to the party

So, I finally watched the Gilmore Girls episodes on the Netflix yesterday.  Yes, I procrastinated getting Netflix and procrastinated watching, and then watched them all in one day.  I guess that is one way to spend your birthday!  So, thoughts --

I do think that some of these episodes could have been edited a bit more -- there was some stuff that could have definitely been briefer.  Things that went on too long included that hideous musical about Start Hollow (although the lyrics were amusing), and the sequence with Finn and Colin and co., and all the parts about Paul.  Ugh.  Why was there even a Paul? Rory did not come across as a very mature or nice person when it came to her personal life, like at all.  It was nice to see the characters from across the years and I was so happy that Melissa McCarthy was able to make it because her making so many wedding cakes was a definite necessity.    I was surprised by how much I had forgotten what Stars Hollow looked like, though.  That was interesting.  As was Cesar's hair -- what was that??

Emily was interesting -- I was with Rory and Lorelai for much of that -- she was acting so out of character (jeans!), but I did believe that her grief would strongly affect her and drive her to make changes.  And her telling off the DAR was awesome.  Berta and her family, though, were a bit over the top, huh?  And it did seem like that language was not totally incomprehensible -- I understood some of it, I thought.  But maybe I am weird.

As to the ending, I really think Logan is the father of Rory's baby and that just sucks.  But explains why she went to see Christopher (who, by the way, does not look like he has aged a bit!) with all the questions.  But oh, I still don't like Logan.  But Jess still has a thing for her, obviously.  I guess Lorelai can let the baby thing go and be a grandma, right?  Although she and Luke never really had an honest conversation about that either.  The communication issues that just won't go away were still aggravating.  But April did not annoy me for some reason.  But they didn't even mention her when they were talking about the wedding, which I thought was weird. But we got to see the wedding before the wedding and that made me happy.

I liked seeing the Gilmore Girls again.  I cannot quite believe I binge-watched it, though.  Whew.  I heard they might do more and I am not 100% sure about that, but I would probably watch.
