Ganga Giri Show

Well Ganga Giri was awesome. I must admit I didn't really get a chance to watch, or focus on hardly any of the show, and I even had to do a liquor run, but I was damned happy to have gone. I bought their CD, directly from the lead singer for $10 bucks--I think he may have given me a deal, because he knew I was running the bar the whole night. lol Damon and Joy came and stayed on to help even after their shifts, and my friend Trina didn't show up. I'm disappointed--I phoned her house and her fiance said 'She's sleeping' and I told him that she was supposed to be volunteering to bartend with me in 15 minutes. I asked him to get her to call me at least, and she never did. I guess she had an early morning. Well, I had worked from 9:30 in the morning to 3:00am, so I wasn't really sympathetic to that--Even just a phone call would have been nice. I'm not really mad, just...disappointed. Oh well.

It was a really neat experience--I had to organize the whole bar, get all the supplies, and order liquor for our target of 250 drinkers. This was my order:
2 Kegs
8 Peach Cider Coolers(the big 2L)
8 Pear Cider
2 26's of Vodka and White Rum

Tapping the Kegs--I had read how to do it on the internet, but luckily one of the fellows who was helping pick up the liquor was a former bar manager! I was so lucky, and he was AWESOME to help us tap them--and he said he was staying just because he didn't want to see me upset. How cute was he! I am truly appreciate of the help!
With the first Keg, it was cool, you let all the foam out, and then I was making magical pours the whole night from keg 1. I had bonded with it while taking out the foam, you see. The second Keg and I didn't socialize, and so we ended up jugging from that keg, and pouring from the jug. What a neat experience though.

Even though people bought their tickets at the door, people gave us tips, and it was so nice! Joy, Damon and I all got to take home about $10 bucks in tips, which, for a volunteer job--is pretty damned cool.

We did watch for people drinking too much, and one girl had bought quite a few, so we told her we'd have to slow down on serving to her. I think she was upset at first, but she came back later, which we had said she could do, and I said, "Sorry about earlier, we just have to make sure that we are being responsible."

We also had another guy--a man I've met before and thought was quite upbeat and funny during the day last year at Komasket, who wanted to buy shots.

Within a half hour period, he bought a double of vodka, fine, and then he asked for two singles together, and then one more single. I had to cut him off and he was mad. He demanded me to reimburse him, and so I did. He was right pissed tho.

It was a cool night, got lots of hugs, gave some random guy my phone number--and I did this because I felt bad because he said he had trouble meeting people. I know lots of people, I'll introduce him. lol. He was cute, but, there was someone else I actually think is cuter and a bit more of an interesting mystery than him. I hope I see him again, I have a mini-crush! yay. It's been so long haha.

This weekend is going to be awesome too, because I'm going to see Becky and Lindy in Van, and I can't wait. Wahoo Van trip. Actually, I should be ending this entry, and going downstairs to get my suitcase and put it in my car, fill up my tank with gas, and go to the airport. Yay! Weekend fun!

YEEHA!
