[So. Edgeworth has had a rough couple of weeks. First, Wright became a drone. He's still half hoping he'll snap out of it, but it's looking less likely by the day. Then the infections. And the vaccine. And his not-son's death. Even though he had barely talked to the kid, he knew how attached Ken was to him... And he blames himself for allowing the ( Read more... )

[at the sound of more coughing Iris is there with.. more soup or something. ffff she has pretty much been up all night flitting between Ken, Edgeworth, and the kitchen, so she's just tired]

How are you feeling?

Ah, I'm fine. There's no need to strain yourself, especially if you think you might be coming down with it, too.

...Besides, I'm sure Ken needs your attention more than I do.

[she shakes her head, offering a weak smile] I feel fine... I just want to do everything I can.

Ken... [she looks over her shoulder, up at his room] I hope he'll be okay.

We don't need you getting sick, either. [He totally feels like he's making you do all the work. And is just sitting here. Being a blob.]

Ken is... Well. I'm sure he'll be able to pull through... [Hopefully. Eventually.]

I received a vaccine as well, but I'm fine. The one I got must have been real, I think I'll be safe. [she finally sets the soup and tea on the coffee table so he can have it whenever]

He's a strong boy but... He doesn't seem to be getting better, neither of you do. [and she's so worried]

This flu epidemic can't last forever. I'm sure that, er, [cough cough cough] most everyone will fight it off successfully. [Okay, he doesn't really believe that, but he can't just say "WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE".]

The children are the ones we should be the most concerned about. I'm sorry that I'm unable to assist you at the moment...

[she frowns at the coughing] Mm, I'm sure you're right. Please, drink that tea, it should help ease the coughing.

I don't mind, you're just as important as they are. [that sounds weird, but you know what she means]

Ah, yes, thank you. [He finally does reach over and take a sip. It is actually pretty soothing...]

I am an adult, however. I'm far more capable of fending off illness than they are.

[she watches like a creeper for a moment, hoping it's not crap or something asdlgh XD]

Mm, I hardly think this can be called a normal sickness. You should focus on resting and getting better...

[...He can't really taste things, anyway.]

Thank you, Iris. But, you've already done enough. I'll be fine. You, on the other hand, should be the one getting some rest soon.
