When Will calls to invite Savannah out to his new house in Westchester for Sunday, she can't say no. They haven't seen each other in far too long, and they have so much to catch up on: he not only quit his job with Gotham DA's office, but retired from the practice of law altogether. No to mention up and relocating to New York on what seemed like a whim. He's been doing a lot of that lately, it seems.
Things on a whim.
Boy had run off and gotten married on one, too. And she still doesn't know what exactly had spurred him to do that. But she intends to find out.
She tells him she doesn't drive - like most people in the five boroughs - so he says he'll send a car for her. And he does; the last thing she expects to see is a limo parked outside her building.
The ride out to the house doesn't take as long as Savannah expects, and she occupies herself with watching out the window, taking in what scenery there is, since she's never been out to Westchester before. They finally pull up out front of a large three-story house and Savannah thanks the driver as he opens her door and helps her out of the car.
"This way, Miss," he says. "Mister Beachum is expecting you."
Savannah follows him up the front steps and through the front door into the foyer, where she waits for Will to appear.
