One Yellowtail (Action)

[A young boy, appearing around six or so, is snoozing with his mouth wide open. After a tad, he begins to mumble in his sleep -- something about "otters", "mustard", and a "race". Then, suddenly, he snorts, his gaze lazily revealing itself.

Something smells different.]

[So Nigel's scouting around the neighborhood when he hears a fellow kid crying very loudly! His sense of duty is pinged and he runs around to locate the source, finding Gash's room. He throws a tiny rubber ball from a game of jacks at the window to get his attention]

["Thunk!" What was that? Gash, breaking a moment from his crazy pacing, presses his snot-dripping face against the closed window to peer for the source of the noise.]

Nu-nuu...?

[As the ball bounces back off the window, Nigel catches it and gives Gash a brief wave, before... running around the side of the house to jump from a car to the porch roof, etc. until he gets to the window. Please excuse his mad ninja skills, he is highly trained to be a bamf]

Remain calm! I, Numbuh One of the Kids Next Door Sector V, am here to help!

So, what's going on? Are you being oppressed?

[Gash's thoughts? "WHOA. THIS GUY IS SO COOL. SUPER HERO COOL." Even so, he's not too awed to not reply.]

"Numbuh One"? -Uuuu... not that I know of. Oppressed is when you open and then press something together, is that not so?

I don't know why I'm in this house, though. [Sniff. Well, at least Gash has calmed down considerably. All right for big words.]

GAWD, NIGEL, SO TL;DR numbuh_one June 2 2010, 01:52:17 UTC
No, "Oppressed" is when someone tries to take away your rights and bully you. But from the sound of it, you're simply in the same predicament as me and the others in this town. Someone has kidnapped you and will try to force you to live in this house with a fake "family." Also, any superhuman abilities you may have had are now neutralized. The enemy has a great deal of control over the people here. However, I fully believe that they can be stopped. My team and I are working to that end.

[And to all of this, Gash simply nods.] So that's how it is... Then I will help you, too! I may not be able to fight as I should, but I can still try with something!

Well, Gash Bell, the Kids Next Door welcomes you at any time. We just arrived ourselves, but it's our mission to keep our fellow kids safe from tyranny. I'd tell you where our base is located, but it's kind of a work in progress.

Our treehouse back in Sector V had all kinds of stuff like that! Gotta keep the adults out, you know?

As long as we can find the necessary supplies here in Mayfield, I'm confident Numbuhs 2 and 4 can bring us back to snuff...

...Ou? Why just the adults? Some are mean and spoil lots of fun, but some can be nice. Haha- like Folgore or Professor Riddles!

I'll help, as well. Unu! Just tell me what I need to do!

Sure, not all adults are bad, but it's too big of a risk, because they could be bad and just pretending to be nice. Adult tyrants are our enemy, I can't afford to put my team in jeopardy like that.

...Besides, most adults still try to make you eat broccoli and other gross things.

Do you have any experience building?

I see. You're a good leader to stand on guard all the time. -- And broccoli is really gross if you don't cook it with lots of fish. Anything tastes great with Yellowtail, though!

Building... building... bui- Oh, I made Vulcan-300 once! He's my robot friend!

HAHA oh Gash you and your misleading statements numbuh_one June 3 2010, 19:51:20 UTC
Now you've got it. - Wait, yellowtail? [he doesn't get it]

Really? You can build robots?!

[EXCITEMENT. >:D More technology-geared kids is always a plus]
