[Mokuren is walking home from the general store with some seeds for the garden, but she stops suddenly in her tracks. She's crying.]

I'm alright. But I can't seem to stop crying. How strange.

[Lucas breathes a small sigh of relief and pulls Mokuren gently to the side. This is the easiest to fix.]

I'm so sorry about this. How do you feel . . . emotions, I mean? Are you sad or unhappy at all?

homesickness just happens when you haven't called your mom in a while, right? istheatmosphere March 5 2011, 22:56:55 UTC
This was your doing? [She doesn't seem angry, just surprised.] I'm not sad. [She wipes her eyes with her free hand.]

Homesickness doesn't exist in 3, actually! Although it's fine if you want to use it. a_gentle_boy March 5 2011, 23:02:57 UTC
I-It was an accident. And that's good. This shouldn't be much trouble to fix.

[The boy will gently take one of her hands in his, then reach up towards her face to try to touch it gently. 'Healing' is applied, slowly and deliberately . . . ]

((Up to you if it works!))

Nah, that's fine. I don't want to dump all Mokuren's issues concerning home on poor Lucas istheatmosphere March 5 2011, 23:18:11 UTC
[She kneels down so she can be at eye-level with him. Her tears soon dry up.] How do you do it? [She's confused and genuinely curious. Psychic powers existed in her society, but they didn't quite work like this]

OK, no problem. a_gentle_boy March 5 2011, 23:52:42 UTC
. . . It's a type of psychic manipulation. I don't really know how brains work, but the light messes with the way it works. I'm very sorry, again.

Oh, sarches! Psychic powers don't work quite that way where I'm from.

There was no lasting harm done.

. . . Let me make sure.

[Lucas holds up a glowing hand again, concentrating to see if his PK Flash had done any further damage. A few moments later, he nods and the PSI dies away.]

[She nods.] We call it Sarches power. It depends on the individual, but some people can fly, use telekinesis and telepathy, among other things. I had powers myself, but I lost them when I came here.

I guess that's fair, then. I can't do any of those things, although . . . I've never really tried, either. What kinds of powers do you have?

Well, I could understand plants and animals. And when I sang, plants would grow. [And oh, she misses those abilities so much.]

. . .

[Lucas stares at her with something approaching reverence.]

That's amazing. Any sort of plants at all . . . ?

[Oh man, is she used to that expression or what. She was pretty much a religious icon back home, after all, precisely because of these powers of hers.] Yes, any kind. It's a little more difficult with animals because they're more complex organisms.

There are people who can make animals grow by singing?

istheatmosphere March 6 2011, 22:50:45 UTC
Oh, no. What I meant to say is I can commune with plants and animals, but I can only make plants grow.

Or I could, before I came here.

. . . Still, that's really something. There was another person here who had power over growing plants. I still have her flowers in my garden.
