Writer Goofiness

So I try very hard to put my mind into the characters as I'm writing them. One of the ways I do that is by mimicking their body language, reciting their dialouge etc...This is really helpful, it helps to create the scene and capture the characters feelings more easily. This morning its quite slow at work and I'm transcribing one of the more emotionally painful upcoming scenes in The Exile.

So I'm sitting here in my cube grimacing and mimicking disraught Arthur and really into it when one of my co-workers walks up to my cube (I totally didn't even see her approach) and says:

Her voice filled with concern "Are you okay?"

I started and smiled and told her I was fine. I feel like such a goof right about now.
