[VIDEO CALL OF BROTHERLY LOVE]seeing_only_redAugust 6 2009, 04:52:00 UTC
[Itachi wants to not feel.
If he couldn't feel he would not be able to sense the emotions coming from this dream--the admiration, the love, what could easily be possessiveness--because this hurts in more ways then he ever thought he would have to face.
This is before everything fell apart. This was before everything went wrong and he broken them so badly that what they once were was not fractured into the pieces of what they have become.
And yet despite the confusion and that heavy weight in his chest--which makes him clench his Hitomi with both hands--
There is a question in his mind. One he cannot ignore.]
Deidara?
[Then he realizes that in cleching his Hitomi he hit the call button.]
Re: [VIDEO CALL OF BROTHERLY LOVE]a_for_tioriAugust 7 2009, 03:05:30 UTC
[He called.
... Why the fuck would he call?
What did he want? Did he just want to talk to Sasuke? Was he trying to tell him something?
Did he think he could just come back and talk to Sasuke like nothing had happened? No, he can't possibly be that stupid. Itachi is many things, but he's not an idiot and he's not delusional. And he would have to be rather deeply entrenched in denial to think that.]
Dreams are just the result of unconscious mind processing random pieces of information from memory. They don't mean anything.
[More to the point, why is Sasuke not hanging up? Okay, because he wants to know what Itachi is after, but - but he can't just talk to Itachi like this. He's not ready. Not even close to being ready. And even if he was ready he doesn't want to talk to Itachi. Ever again.
He glares at the Hitomi. Because this is all the Hitomi's fault.]

[It's all the damn Hitomi's fault. Itachi really wishes he could find a way to filter this damn thing...or at least find a better way of using it. The touch screen has always annoyed him.
But now he is trapped, unable to simply hang up--because Uchiha Itachi doesn't run from anything, not even his little brother--so instead he gives it the full attention it deserves.
Perhaps--possibly, maybe, even if not likely--this is what they have needed this entire time.
Kakashi's words come to mind again...but Itachi has no idea how to begin.]
It would seem that place creates many dreams that are contrary to the personal views and wishes of its inhabitants. Perhaps a byproduct of these devices we are unable to rid ourselves of.
[He hopes this is enough, because he has no idea what else he can do. How does one speak to the brother they have tormented for nine years, whose life he irreparably ruined until he is everything Itachi wanted--but didn't--him to be?]
Re: [VIDEO CALL OF BROTHERLY LOVE]a_for_tioriAugust 7 2009, 03:28:57 UTC
[Sasuke isn't going to run either. Definitely not. He managed to kill Itachi, for fuck's sake. He isn't going to flinch from... talking to him.
Besides, he already responded. It's too late to hang up now. Hanging up now after he already responded would be ridiculous.
And Sasuke wants to hear what Itachi has to say. Because it's probably important, if he called. Although he sort of wishes Itachi would get on with telling him what it was. Because looking at Itachi's face and hearing Itachi's voice is making Sasuke feel almost sick.
Even knowing the truth, he can't help but look at those eyes and think, this is the one I have to hate. And thinking that just makes him angry at himself because it reminds him of how fucking blind he was.
He is quiet for a few seconds. His eyes roam the screen absently, like he's trying to think of something - anything - to say. He's tempted to just stay silent, except if he does that then this call is going to last forever and he doesn't want to it last. He wants it to end. But he won't hang up. So
( ... )
Re: [VIDEO CALL OF BROTHERLY LOVE]seeing_only_redAugust 7 2009, 03:39:04 UTC
[Itachi wonders why Sasuke doesn't speak--but he knows, he knows because Sasuke has moved on, moved on from beyond what Itachi has done to him and sought out his own path, and Itachi knows he shouldn't feel so abandoned because his brother isn't trying to kill him anymore--but when he does Itachi is silent himself for some time.
How does one respond to this?]
No. But dreams can also reveal things that were once felt and may have never left.
[....that is not what he meant to say.
And now he can't take it back.
He believes thinking too much about Kakashi has affected him.]
How dare he, after everything he - he doesn't understand anything. Nothing. Not a fucking thing about Sasuke, and he doesn't have any right to talk to Sasuke as if he understands because he doesn't.
He's not ready for this. Not ready to talk to Itachi at all, much less to - forgive him. For acting in Konoha's interests - Konoha's interests, not his, not his at all, it can't be that - at the cost of his clan. For making him into what he is.
For leaving him alone. And now he's -
Sasuke ends the call. And then proceeds to throw the Hitomi across the room. And when it comes back - well. He'll throw it again. He hates, hates, hates the fucking thing. Hates it for making him talk to his brother. For letting Itachi see his dream and think -
