Fandom: JE
Title: Time Will Tell (2) ~ Scattered clouds
Pairing: Ueda Tatsuya x Nishikido Ryo, Taguchi Junnosuke x Ueda Tatsuya (one sided)
Genre: romance, angst
Rating: PG
Summary: Is giving up really an option?
Notes: I finally turned Closed sky into a multi-chaptered fic and wrote a sequel and a final chapter. I decided to name it the Time will tell series. I can't remember why now (xD), so don't pay much attention to it... Anyway, this was a couple of weeks ago. I'm afraid I ruined the atmosphere that the first three-drabble one-shot had, so I'm hesitant to post it, but... meh. I just hope the people who read Closed sky to like it as much. Comments are highly appreciated ♥
More chapters: 1 ~ 3

1.1 - Plans

The café was crowded. Ueda entered after a couple, safe from getting soaked by the rain. He didn’t see his boyfriend until he noticed a hand waving at the end of the room. He smiled and walked towards him between the tables. Ryo moved a chair back for him to sit.

“Sorry, I’m a bit late” he apologized.

“Don’t worry, I’ve already ordered everything” Ryo said.

Ueda saw he was trying to smile as well, but he couldn’t. He looked really exhausted. He always worked too much. Ueda put a hand on his cheek. Ryo moved it back when a waitress came with their breakfasts.

“Yamapi, Jin and Shirotan have invited us to go out with them tonight and celebrate our anniversary in advance” he told Ueda.

“How nice” Ueda answered, holding a sigh.

The very next weekend they would have been together five years already. Ryo had been trying so hard to adjust his agenda to spend that day with him. He still had to work during the day in a NewS PV, but they’d be together all night.

Ueda split his chopsticks. He wasn’t really looking forward to it - spending all day alone in a hotel room, waiting for his boyfriend to come - but he had no choice if he wanted to silence Ryo’s suspicions and make things clear for Junno at a time.

“Anyway, we can’t stay up until very late” Ryo added, sipping from his cup of tea, after he saw Ueda’s enthusiastic reaction. “We have to be at the airport early tomorrow”.

Ueda nodded, starting to eat his rice.

“I’m so glad you decided to go with me” Ryo smiled, caressing his boyfriend’s cheek. “I feel I can totally trust you if you do this for me. I’ll forget everything about that guy. We’re going to have a great time in Hawaii, you’ll see”.

1.2 - Rush

Junno was indeed a dorky guy, but he was quite impressive when he spoke seriously.

He left the note on Ueda’s desk and wandered round the room while Ueda stood beside him, his arms folded. He took his time to begin talking. His voice didn’t sound depressed, but determined. Like always.

“Is there a good reason you don’t speak anymore to me for?” he said.

Ueda picked the small piece of paper and tried to smooth it out. It was obvious that Junno had thought a lot about that. He could picture him on his room, getting up soon after Ueda left and taking hours to discover the note. He could see him crumpling it inside his clenched fist. He could imagine what Junno’d do in any situation. It was ridiculous most of the time.

“Well, if there is, I can understand it” he added. “But I think there isn’t. Honestly, I don’t think you’re happy. Don’t ask me why, but I can see it.”

Ueda sighed. He couldn’t stand people talking about his feelings as if they knew everything, just because they saw the situation from the outside. And having cared about him through many years didn’t give Junno the right to do that. Ueda wanted to make that clear.

“Look, I didn’t say I want you to understand me” he answered. “I only wanted to thank you for everything, because I felt like it. Because I can’t depend on you anymore, and I won’t go back to your-“

“What?” Junno interrupted him in this funny, high-pitched tone. He cleared his throat. “I mean, what’s wrong with us being friends? Is it Nishikido again?”

Ueda nodded slightly. Junno rolled his eyes and slicked his hair back with his hand. At that point, Ueda figured Junno should have guessed everything. You didn’t have to be a genius to tie up the loose ends, anyway. Ueda reached for his jacket and gave Junno his.

“I’d better get going” he told him. “I’m meeting him for breakfast”.

Ueda hurried up and soon left Junno behind when they left his apartment, without even saying goodbye. Junno gave up chasing after him, panting.

“You haven’t given me an answer yet!” he yelled at Ueda, just as he went round the corner.

1.3 - Evening

The hands on the clock seemed to go slower, just like the numbers on his watch seemed to last for hours. It wasn’t Ryo’s style to suddenly change their plans, but that day he did. When Ueda was waiting for him to get ready, he asked him if it was okay to stay home for that evening.

“Sure” Ueda had answered, throwing his coat to the sofa. It wasn’t him who Ryo’s friends would get angry at, anyway.

It didn’t matter, anyway. Ryo was always the one who made the plans. Ueda only went along with him wherever he wanted to go. Ryo was okay with that. He’d never ask Ueda where he’d like to go.

The previous minutes were like forever. So was the contact of Ryo’s lips on his, always so soft and wet - he’d purposely moisten them when he actually wanted to kiss Ueda. Ueda knew. Therefore, when he noticed he drew nearer Ryo and slightly tilted his chin while closing his eyes. Ryo’d usually be the one who started the kiss. When they were younger he said he hated those fishy lips, but as time passed he came to love them. Or maybe he just got accustomed to them.

Their kisses were long and slow. Ueda sometimes focused on Ryo’s breath, warm against his cheek, going faster like if he were anxious when their tongues met. Ueda’d merely stay still, one arm stuck to his body and the other folded, his hand clinging on something - often Ryo’s shirt - while Ryo tangled his fingers in his hair.

Ueda unconsciously moaned when he felt something separating him from Ryo. He felt two hands shaking on his shoulders and turned around as soon as he opened his eyes.

He couldn’t believe he’d gone that far. Ueda stood up, and so did Ryo, though he couldn’t stop him.

“The door was open. Hate me if you want, but we’re leaving”.

Ueda first thought that he was talking to him. Later, after Junno gripped his arm firmly and took him out of Ryo’s apartment he realized it -those were challenge words for Ryo.
