If anyone ever sees my posts here, they've figured out by now that one of my hobbies is looking at real estate. I just love house shopping! I especially like to look at old fixer-uppers and plan in my head how I would renovate and update them.
Now in general, when I see wallpaper I cringe. I hate wallpaper with a burning passion. What one person likes is probably not going to be another person's cup of tea, but for the prospective home buyer, it can be an automatic 'nope' because it's a royal pain in the butt to get rid of it. You can paint over it, but at some point in the future, it will probably begin to buckle and sag, especially if it gets painted multiple times. And then, when it's coated in several layers of paint, it can be even harder to strip away. Plus, I just tend to like simple, neutral walls; everything 'pops' better against a nice taupe wall, especially artwork.
Now, all that being said, every, every now and then I see a home with wallpaper and something just clicks. This house is one of those times. It looks like the outside needs some care, but the inside of this house is completely charming:
1146 2nd St NW, Rochester, MN I could live there. :)
