What a relationship should be and what it is are two different matters, Miwako. It shouldn't be long-distance, but it is. In fact, one could say it doesn't even really exist. This is clearly not within the same universe as your home and your boyfriend does not, in fact, exist in the present state of this environment as we know it.
Technically, if he doesn't exist, all your ties are severed. You have no lover.
