A notice to my fellow homestuckers
I just wanted to let you guys know that Nepeta is going to be going through a pretty big change in her life. She's been here a little over a year now and has gone through a lot of stuff. There are a few major differences between my Nepeta and her original canon appearances. I just thought I'd bring these up and let you all know what's going on in case you wonder why she isn't the happy, pun-loving cat girl we all know.
1. She doesn't like roleplaying anymore. - she's pretty much outgrown this hobby and only does it to keep up a front for her troll friends. Roleplaying just reminds her of Jade. Old Jade. It makes her super sad (a theme, you will this a lot)
2. She's almost perpetually sad on the inside - it's getting harder and harder to keep up a mask of happy. Only Lucas really knows the extent of how sad she gets sometimes. She's going to stop faking it pretty soon and might get kind of gloomy and depressed and apathetic towards things. She's lost a lot of her happy, energetic, sugary self and she's grown up so much that her personality it starting to reflect a more mature Nepeta with a lot of hurt inside.
3. She doesn't think fashion is stupid - Kanaya will be happy to hear that Nepeta has taken to wearing some of Jade's old tights and dresses and sweaters collected from F3's instead of her usual trench coat, t-shirt, and jeans. Her current go-to outfit is a baggy sweater with grey tights and converse. She rarely wears her kitty hat and tail anymore.
4. Nepeta is more mature than she used to be - she's learned a lot in a year and has pretty much come to terms with the world not being a happy, fun place. She's dead back home and she's constantly tortured here and there is no point pretending everything is going to turn out okay.
Thanks for your time guys. I thought I'd explain myself with her development rather than sift through pages of "you're a terrible Nepeta! this is depressing! you are so ooc!" I know she's really different and I'm sorry if you're disappointed that she's not her typical canon self anymore.
I'll likely be posting with her super soon after a log with matthew so she can talk to her troll friends and kid friends again.
