Hey, guys! Congratulations, you made it through Week One Hundred and One. Happy New Year!
Please excuse our dust while we reorganize a bit to make things easier to navigate. Many of you probably noticed the new
site map. We have the site map on the profile of all three comms and in the sidebar for all three comms. We'll be refining this as we go, but it should make finding the information you need quicker and easier. Feedback, as always, is welcome. Anyone really good at html that can make it look pretty?
First order of business, it’s Sunday, and time for reset. Everything is white, sterile, and boring as ever. Good job not leveling the biodome.
The test for week one hundred and two is shadow selves from Persona 4. A shadow self represents a person's suppressed personality, their unrecognized fears and impulses. It's often represented as the thoughts that people have but jam down and refuse to recognize, almost before they know they even had the thoughts. These are not personality reversals or anything like that, these are your character, but it's the little things that they keep hidden, even from themselves, in their attempt to be a good person or to be what they think they are. As an example, if your character is usually seen as selfless, these are the selfish thoughts that everyone has but they usually don't express. If your characters is an ass, these can be the humanitarian thoughts they ignore. These will be easy to pick out, thanks to their glowing yellow eyes. They have no overwhelming agenda, they're just around to shove what your character really is under their nose. Shadow selves do not have communicators.
Here's an excellent article on Jungian psychology and Persona 4, focusing on the shadow self:
http://www.kwanzoo.com/blog/the-shadow-self-persona-4-and-carl-jung.shtml Subjects that face down their shadow selves and destroy them will receive an item from home at the end of the week. It only counts if the original subject does the death blow.
Week 102 will also have
Patchouli blowing the place to hell in a handbasket, so all subjects will be affected by that. Heads up, rebellion plot crew!
For our new writers, hello! Welcome aboard, feel free to ask questions. These days, most of the chats take place on AIM in 'facilitychat', so feel free to go there for your plotting needs. We also have a spiffy new
plot post for players to use. Shop for plot or advertise one of your own. Thanks!
ETA: In keeping in line with P4 canon, the strength of the shadow is determined by how repressed it is. The more repressed the person is, the stronger their shadow. For those looking to do a big, boss fight style throw down with their shadow self? We are allowing giant mutated forms.
