[There's a quiet thump--barely a shake of the buildings walls--coming from outside. Kid Flash leans somewhat carelessly against the building, looking out at where all the destruction is going on. He's supposed to be running around saving people--and he was. Until he got too tired to move. His reserves are shot.

So he slumps against the wall eating...an apple. It's the only thing he's eaten in hours and it's not enough, but at least it will keep him from crashing. Maybe.]

[Superman hands him another apple. His own- he doesn't really need to eat anyway.]

You don't look well...

[His stomach? Might just be rumbling at the sight of that second apple, but he's trying to be a good guy here.]

Ah...no problems here, man. Just getting my sand legs--or whatever. All the blasting and quaking can make a guy a little dizzy.

Eat that apple son. I recognize a superhero drained out of power when I see it.

[Been there, done that.]

[He winces just a bit because getting chewed out by Superman is almost as bad as getting chewed out by the Flash--although neither are as scary as being chewed out by Batman. but he's...yeah.]

It's not like I'm not eating. [a bit petulant as he takes the apple.] Things are crazy today.

I know, son. But you won't be doing a favor to anybody if you starve yourself to death.

I saw what you speedsters did during the destruction... it was really helpful.

[It's so weird because it's nice getting praise from Superman, but also not because Supes back home is kind of in a strange place with The Team, but his Supes isn't that one and--

--he's just going to enjoy it and not mention it to Superboy ever.]

...Thanks. [So he's going to bite into that apple and it's gone in a matter of seconds, only the core behind.] There's so few of us back home, it was kind of awesome to see a lot of speedsters here. Too bad the Flash couldn't be here to see it.

I would have liked to see him again, racing him could have taken a little bit of tension away from me.

Do you need more food?

You mean you would have like to lose to him again. [Muttered a bit offhandedly until Wally realize who he's talking to.]--I mean. Uh. I'm sure it would have been a great race to watch! I missed the last one.

And no, I'm okay. Just needed a minute.

[Don't worry Wally, Clark just smirks a bit at that]

Competitive like him, are we?

[Kate's been alternating between being on the roof and being inside the base. Basically anywhere she's needed. She sees Wally slump against the wall from inside. A few minutes later she emerges from inside, standing in front of him and holding something on a plate out to him. It's nothing special, just a sandwich, a little bag of trail mix and another apple but it's something]

Eat.

[He blinks languidly for a moment, taking a second to recognize the food--oharethosenutsinthattrailmix--and that Kate's the one offering it. Immediately, his features brighten up and he smirks at her.]

I thought lunchtime was hours ago, but I'll take anything you're offering, Kate.

[The comment gets an ultimately good natured eye roll and she hands him the plate]

You look exhausted. You're gonna need plenty of energy if you plan on going back out.

[A little shrug there, but he takes the plate and goes for the sandwich first.]

Just running a little low. Nothing big. I'll pace myself for a couple hours and I'll be right as rain.

[Translation: His speed's tapped since he's cut down his food intake for two weeks straight.]

Uh huh.

[She doesn't believe you, dude]

You know, I've got some experience with speedsters and I can tell when someone has pretty much exhausted themselves. Conserving food is good but that doesn't mean you have to completely starve yourself.

I'm not! [It just looks like it. And wow that sandwich might be gone already.] I've been eating the same as anyone. [Which is the problem.] Don't worry, I'm fine.

[smirk] Although, I may have to think this through better if it gets me this kind of attention.
