He didn't want to think anymore, and he'd promised himself he'd never touch the stuff again, but if there was one thing he remembered about "Alcohol", it was how good it was at helping you forget. Sollux could still only fuzzily recall most of what had happened the first night, and if it helped him forget about stuff for only a night, well then the hangover would be worth it. Probably. Lifting some booze from the older residents of his suite hadn't been particularly hard. At first he waited for Karkat, but as the seconds ticked by Karkat still hadn't showed and Sollux was getting anxious. So he took a drink, and then another. He felt himself getting a little foggy, and part of him told himself he said he'd wait for Karkat, but by that point he couldn't much care anymore. Just one more while he waited for him would be fine.
