Mohinder could guess where Sylar was rather easily and headed straight there, hands half clenched at his sides and eyes dark, not that anyone could see him. It hardly seemed to matter. The sounds of him shuffling around ought to clue him in on how uncomfortable he must look just the same.

"Are you all right?" Odd question. No one here was ever 'all right.'

"At least you can see again." And Mohinder was more or less intact. Though, honestly, he really hadn't had the time to do much more than think about his missing pieces in a cursory manner. Hard to when there was so much more going on.

He paused, squinting his eyes, trying to figure out where, exactly, Sylar was.

"What was that about earlier?"

"A miss," he said, almost too fast. "Aimed for Elle?" He didn't think so but it might be more kind to 'misinterpret.' To give Sylar a way out. "A mind game? You're fond of them." He shifted uncomfortably. "I've no idea."

There was a good deal of silence. Talking to nothing but a voice was giving him a feeling of disconnection. At least when he and Elle spoke, he could touch her. And...well. Try to decipher the truly odd way she texted him. It was not always that successful.

"You're joking...." He didn't say it to be mean or rude, but he had simply no other idea on how he was meant to take it. "Stop having me guess!"

There's nothing to say for quite a long time. Mohinder's holding his breath, stupidly perhaps, but he can't stop his hear from pounding so harshly in his chest. And he can't stop the sound of himself swallowing what feels like sand down his throat.

His fingers shook as he balled them into fists.

"Why did you break my ribs? Why did you pull out my tongue and force me to stay with you!?"

It didn't matter if Mohinder could hear that sneer or not. He felt it, a rush moving up his spine. It left him cold and while that might have been a blessing, Mohinder didn't feel right just the same.

"It's always about Elle," he said, trying to stand his ground even when he wanted nothing more than to crawl back towards the door. "Everything you do or say to me has something to do with her."

Perhaps finding his balls last week had actually been a pretty potent metaphor.

"I left because you threatened to kill me!" he yelled, anger bubbling up to the back of his throat. "That's all you do when you're unhappy. You threaten or you maim or you push anyone away that gets remotely close to you. I hadn't wanted to go last time but I won't let you hurt her simply because you're jealous. And yes, she's just like you. Lost and alone with a robbed childhood. I never said she was more important than you! Everyone deserves a second chance!"

Mohinder himself was surprised to find that he was allowed to stand on his own and not kiss the wall or the ceiling as tended to happen. He'd heard Sylar get up after all. He stood his ground. Sylar terrified him, but there were other monsters here. Ones just as terrible as Sylar who pretended that they were anything but.

"Killing you? Killing you? How can I possibly be killing you?!" Yelling, sometimes, just felt really good.
