Summary: Just a routine spar with a little break for the heck of it.

[Kanda was taking longer than normal that morning. A combination of trying to get ready quietly and writing Alma a small note took up a little more time than he budgeted for.

He dressed in a pair of loose black pants, flat shoes and one of his oriental styled shirts, his long hair is tied back at the base of his neck. The cracking along his tattoo could be seen coming over onto the top of his shoulder from under his sleeve. His new crosses however were very visible.

Kanda walks into the biodome, no sword in sight and smirks when he sees Lavi stretching.]

You ready then?

[Part of the reason why Lavi was glad he lived by himself, so long as he didn't disturb his new and creepy neighbor (Bakura) then he could generally get ready as loudly as he wished. The ginger head lifts as he hears Kanda's voice and smiles a little bit, the emotion leaning more toward a smirk that said that he was ready.

Though it does take Lavi a moment or two to tear his eye away from both the cracks and the marks, stubbornly keeping his gaze on Kanda's face. It was still strange to see those changes on his friend, a friend who had been scarless for as long as Lavi had known him and yet now he had permanent marks. Something that made him wonder what else had changed...]

[Kanda stretched his arms above his head, quite pleased to see that smirk on the Rabbit's face. It had been a long time since he'd spared with Lavi, at home or here in the Facility.

Lavi's staring didn't go unnoticed but Kanda would call him out on it. They were still strange even to him. For the longest time it bothered Kanda that he was scarless, especially when his friends had acquired so many. Now that he had them, he was surprisingly self conscious about them. More-so the cracking than the marks from his innocence.]

I figured we'd go hand to hand. Since it's been a while.

[They had fallen out of the habit yet again after one of the F3 trips, it always seemed to throw a wrench into whatever plans they set up on a permanent basis. But Lavi too was eager to once more spar with his friend, see what he could do.

Which is why he's doing his best to keep his eye on Kanda's face for now or at least in other areas of the biodome while Kanda stretches out his own muscles. Lavi slips off his boots and tosses them near his shirt, giving the swordsman a thumbs up to say that it was just fine with him. Really that had been the only kind of sparring he had done lately with anyone. It was hard to practice in a dome with his weapon when he couldn't use seals or had to be careful not to destroy things.

When it looks like his "opponent" is ready, Lavi slips into an easy stance looking for any openings.]

[Kanda was glad to see that Lavi so energetic, this was going to be fun. And hopefully he wasn't going to need to kick him after ten minutes.

He raises an eyebrow at Lavi's charades.] You still can't talk...?

[He thought Lavi said he would be fine, but if he still couldn't talk now... Kanda was concerned. He finished stretching, but instead of taking a stance, he walks over to his fellow exorcist. He wanted to make sure he was alright before they started anything.]

[Lavi frowns and holds a hand out, palm down, then sort of shakes it like a see-saw to signify "kind of". But he hates the way it sounds, how weak and scratchy. And really, not using it helped it heal faster.

He slips out of his stance and holds his hands up to ward Kanda off, he knew the other didn't know sign language so signing "I'm fine" wouldn't have done a damn thing to stop him from coming over. So Lavi fell into mouthing the words.]

"I'm okay, Yu."

[Kanda frowns at the "kind of" hand movement. Are you trying to get him to mother you, because that only makes his concern worse.

He respects Lavi enough to stop when Lavi signals him to. Kanda couldn't hold back the dubious look at all of Lavi's flailing, if even takes him a moment to fully accept the mouthed words.] ... You're sure?

[Finally nodding, he backs up again taking an offensive stance.]

I'm ready, but only if you're sure.

[No! If anything he doesn't want to be mothered at all. D: He's 21, dammit. He's older than you now. Leave him alone.

He's nodding as Kanda gets into his own stance. Just avoid head/neck blows and he won't curl up in a ball while holding onto it. Lavi shifts back into his own and falls into a defensive one, waiting for the attack.]

[Dammit, not much older. And that's just technical!

Don't worry, Kanda is going to aim for the torso-down. And in fact that's the first thing he lunges to hit. Making a fist, Kanda runs back at Lavi, ducking once he gets into striking range and aims his fist for Lavi's stomach.]

[He'll be back to being younger than you in hopefully a few months. We'll see.

Lavi manages to block it for once with both of his arms set on top of one another but he doesn't stop with just that. The redhead brings a knee up to try and get it into Kanda's side, he was always better with having the fight this close anyway. The further hits and punches he had problems with, Lavi is an in-fighter.]

[They're still pretty much the same age, here it doesn't matter much.

Lavi's hit connects with Kanda's side, causing the other exorcist to let out a soft grunt. Kanda's hands move quickly though, wrapping under Lavi's knee and wrenching his leg up, trying to knock the Rabbit off-balance.]

You're getting better.

[Uh-huh~

Kanda does manage to do that at least and Lavi loses his footing, slipping and then falling back toward the ground. So he lets himself fall back trying to use his other leg to knock Kanda's out from under him and get free.]

[Kanda smirks, chuckling in victory when Lavi starts to fall. The kick makes Kanda drop Lavi's leg and causes him to stagger back in order to not fall as well.]

You can do better than that. [It was only a matter of time before Kanda started to tease him, though it did show he was enjoying himself.]

[Lavi gives him a rough snort and gets up to his feet, charging at Kanda and aiming a few punches of his own. Maybe even trying to toss Kanda over his shoulder if he can.]

[Kanda dodges most of the punches with a smirk planted firmly on his face. It was much more fun when he had a willing sparring partner. Though, Lavi's last move had Kanda confused. Thinking it was going to be another punch, he dodged accordinly... which left him wide open.

He was more than a little surprised to be up off of the ground and immediately started squirming.]

Hey! Let me down!

[Not going to let you down~ At least not in a way Kanda would like... The swordsman is getting tossed to the ground, smirking at having caught Kanda off guard like that. Lavi'll wait for him to get back up though, slipping back into a stance nearby.]
