"Right this way," Tamaki smiled, holding the door open for Xion. When he saw the picnic's spread, though, his smile brightened. When Mindy had talked about a picnic, he hadn't imagined she'd have put together anything quite like this.

Xion smiled and politely curtsied. It wasn't really an action she was familiar with, but rather something she'd recently picked up. Today was special, sort of. A good day to try good things. She was wearing something very new, something Jade had picked special for her a few days before. Among many other borrowed outfits, Xion had come into possession of a rather charming black skirt and jacket. Even though it was a "day to try new things," she couldn't help but wear her favorite color.

"Why thank you, sir," she walked towards the picnic spread, "it sure looks great in here!"

"Mindy truly outdid herself." He walked along side Xion to the blanket where the picnic was set up and took in the spread. "I'm really impressed. We will have to think of something great to do to say thanks."

His eyes turned from the food to Xion as she sat. "You look especially beautiful tonight."

The spread looked pretty delicious, regardless of how unfamiliar she was with most of the food. Those pineapples sure looked interesting. She sat on her knees, the way they did back in the Land of Dragons. That's formal, right? That'd be appropriate? She figured so.

At his compliment, she did her best to cover her blush. "Thanks...You look nice as well..." and then the words just...stopped. All of this was set up just for them, so...what was supposed to happen? What kinds of things was she supposed to say?

"Have you made any new friends recently?" It was small talk while he served her her food. It didn't mean that it wasn't sincere.

"Sorta. It's less like I've found them and...they found me. Branching out...can be hard sometimes. I feel like I'm getting a little set in my ways here," she took her food and smiled graciously.

Speaking of small talk..."That week when I thought I was from your home, you remember that? I kept calling you...Senpai...That means older classmate or something, right?" As she spoke, she nervously poked at the foreign pineapple.
"Since we're not classmates, what would I call you?"

He chuckled. "Tamaki is just fine, and I'm glad you're making new friends." After his own plate was made, Tamaki pushed his food around his plate a little before glancing back at her.

"Last week, the things you said about being a year old and made in a lab. Was that true?"

She placed her hands on the ground and leaned forward. "No no, tell me, I wanna know! What special term would I use for you? I'll answer you after you answer me!"

"A special term? Er, well, we're not in school-unless! Unless you're talking about something else. Are you talking about pet names? Adorable little nicknames only we can call one another?"

"Like, Tamaki-Senpai, except we're not in school so I can't call you that...What would I call you outside of school? What would I put at the end of your name? If that's what you mean by a pet name, then yeah!" After that she takes a bite of a chunk of pineapple. This stuff was so good. Tasted like the beach.

He pouted, a little disappointed that all she was looking for was an honorific and not an adorable pet name that showed their affection for all the world to see. "I suppose 'kun' would be appropriate, but you really don't need to."

"Kun," she rolls her neck, "kun, kun, kun."

"I was just curious, Tamaki," her voice quickly carries into the next subject. "Anyways, everything I told you was fact. I hope you don't...think that's too weird."

"No. It's different but not weird. I meant everything I had said as well." It was then that Tamaki noticed the ice cream and passed her the can.
"Would you like some?"

"Yes please," she reaches out and grabs it, tactlessly inserting it into her mouth. She judges it like one would judge a fine wine. Her lips purse and she releases it from her mouth.

"It tastes...It tastes a little like...Seasalt Icecream."

She winced.

"Except, maybe not really as good," she choked out a laugh.

He tackle hugged her, gracefully managing to avoid knocking over any of the food or landing in her plate. His arms squeezed around her arms. "You were so adorable just now~! Oh, I'll find you all the ice cream in the world if I can get to see you make that face again!"

She giggled as he took her down, in a situation where she would usually just blush and wriggle out. It felt like this sort of thing was normal all of a sudden. His body touching hers, almost completely. All she did was nudge her head against his chest. "Tamaki," she laughed, "get offffff~"
