Souseiki stood in that awkward place between wakings. Her last memories were of standing before Jun's soul tree, choosing not to trim the weeds at his sister's request. After the decision was made, they had exited through a dream portal, returning to their world.
Or at least that was the plan. In that brief instant before she exited the dream, Souseiseki had been pulled by the Consortium and placed back into her box. Her trunk had been placed on the bed of room 36C, waiting for whomever would choose to open it up and wind the doll within. Until then, she would remain there. Neither dreaming nor sleeping, but in the odd coma that she stayed in between windings.
