[To say Feferi was worried was an understatement. If anything she felt sick, her stomach twisting and turning in knots every time she thought of the look on Sollux's face when he came back, every bad thing he wouldn't say etched into his expression- all the bad things that may be seared into Tavros's face too. What had she done?

She stops at Tavros's room, swalloing before knocking firmly on the door.] ... Tavros?

[There's an awful lot of shuffling behind the door - followed by loud meows, quacks, some kind of terrible bear roar and the smell of something burning (followed by Tavros scolding Nibs and saying he really liked that hostplush) - but then the noise settles down and three thuds are heard. OK, so Tavros just nonchalantly put his animals to sleep while they were having a damn fit. That's totally fine.]

[In the newborn silence, Tavros's chair squeaks as it wheels over to the door. He opens it - but not too wide - and looks up at Fefairy through the gap in the ajar space.]

... U-Uhh.

... You can, um, come in, but, I wasn't ... prepared, for visitors. The, uh-- [his eyes are puffy. It looks like he's been crying.] -- the room is a bit of a mess, so...

[She frowns- she may or may not look extremely GILLty. Hahahaha. ha.

Anyway she pushes the door a little when he says she can come in, starting to say 'Thanks' and all the aplogies when she notices his legs. She freezes, eyes widening.] Tavros, your legs- what the glub?

[oh no, gilltiness is no good! or should I say gillyness because Carp isn't clever and can't read apparently? anyway Tavros moves out of the way just so he doesn't keep Fefairy locked in the hallway thanks to the giant wall that is his stupid-ass chair, then helps her inside and shuts the door behind her.]

Oh. Uh...

I, came back with them. After... that.

[Oh. Well. Ok. That. Ok. Yes.

It takes about a minute for her eyes to start watering purply.] Why? That didn't happen to Sollux or- or anyone! That's not fair!

[She shuts up because really. Reely. She wasn't two sweeps old. She does take a breath. Man, where did she start] Tavros...

[Apparently nowhere.]

[W-Wait stop! Tavros didn't expect this kind of reaction! He thought she'd be upset, but he's not sure if he's ever actually seen Fefairy cry, this is-- Tavros is actually a little too shocked to feel sad for a second or two, and reflexively puts a hand on her back, trying to comfort his friend.]

It's, it's fine, I don't-- I'm not angry! Really. You did, a good thing, by pressing the button, so I'm not... angry.

[Don't be jelly that her tears don't look like watery melted chocolate icecream. And of course him comforting her makes her eyes water all the more, catching in her goggles before they lay waste to he face why did I write that whatever]

[wow there is absolutely nothing weird about the thing you just did, fefairy, i mean waste goggles that's fine!! at least not you're referring to your tears as watered down grape jam or whatever TAVROS KEEPS COMFORTING FEFAIRY, I MEAN, BECAUSE THIS IS A SAD TAG FULL OF SERIOUSNESS Tavros can't help but feel partially responsible for what Fefairy's going through... which is a really awful reaction, honestly. But maybe the deal with his legs still hasn't sunk in yet. Even though he's been crying, it's been a detached sort of feeling like his legs, almost as if what's hitting his heart hasn't really hit his head yet.]

[well, the leg up thing sort of makes a twang in his heart BUT YEP OK] N-No, you shouldn't apologize! Like I said, I'm not angry, and, I don't blame you. It's just... bad luck, I think. Or fate. Maybe I was wrong to try and, um, fix my legs.

... Aradia's, really mad at me, too, so if I were mad at you, I'd just be doing the same thing.

Just- that's what I wanted for you! I didn't think- I thought if it was bad then maybe it would be really short, but maybe it'd be good and you'd be with Aradia-
