Billy was having trouble sleeping too, and eventually decided that maybe the adage 'misery loves company' was right. He found his way to Kate's door, knocking and poking his head inside. He wasn't sure he was thinking straight lately, and it had been a focused effort not to open his mouth and say something stupid. Frustrated and upset as he was, he didn't want that slipping into his magic. He didn't have those ear mods, and if he snapped and said something he regretted...with his luck it would happen.

"Hey, can I come in?"

Kate jumped a bit at the sound of a voice, having not been expecting anyone to come see her. As far as she knew, Tommy was guarding his button and everyone else was off doing their own thing. She turned to the door, relaxing a bit when she saw that it was just Billy.

"Yeah, sure. Come on in." She gave him a smile then that wasn't all there, too tired to really put too much effort into seeming cheerful.

Billy tired his best to return it, stepping inside and closing the door behind him. He ran his hand through his hair, looking tired, but being with someone else lessened the stress of it all a little bit.

"How are you doing?" he asked. A stupid question really. How could anyone be okay with all of this.

She gave a little shrugged when Billy asked how she was doing, turning away from him to look at the wall. Yeah, okay, it was kind of a dumb question. No one was really doing well this week. To tell the truth or not to tell the truth?

"I'm...fine." A lie it would be. "How are you doing?"
