Alex was vaguely annoyed, as per the normal, between the trouble with Jet and almost starting a fight with someone again, it hadn't exactly been a good week. So here he was out wandering the bio-dome to relax instead of sitting in his room and brooding. Of course since other people were generally counter productive to relaxation, he was sticking to the out of the way areas where no one else would be- Oh wait a minute, someone was here, grand.

He stopped in his tracks a few feet away from the person, identifying who it was. Raven, one of the new girls, she wasn't so bad he guessed, but what was she up to? Well, he figured there would be no harm in watching, whatever it was, so he just stayed quite and watched with vague curiosity.

She felt the new presence; felt it approaching and recognized it, vaguely. Alex, who she couldn't quite place, but was leery off because something was off about him. Even if he'd been helpful, and friendly--of a sort.

"...I know you're there, so you might as well come out fully instead of hiding in the shadows." Raven wasn't that eager to test her limits in the presence of someone she wasn't sure of, yet. At least he'd only seen her meditating--off the ground, as she levitated.

He was slightly surprised for a minute that she knew he was there, but he was getting used to being sensed by people so it didn't last. A smile came to his face as he stepped into plain view, waving in greeting.

"Sorry, wasn't expecting to stumble onto someone else. Nice trick you've got there." He chuckled in a friendly manner, looking back between her and the objects on the ground. "So were you planning on doing more or are you just indulging in kleptomaniac behavior?"

"Actually, I'm going to return these..." At least, she was as soon as she was done (unlike the other 3 weights which had been used for scrap-metal). Mind, she wasn't going to be done, until she'd practiced. Which she didn't want to do, while he was there.

"Pity, there would have been a certain irony if you did have kleptomania." He chuckled again as he looked her over, if it seemed like he was analyzing her that's exactly what he was doing. "You don't look like you use weights that often, and you obviously don't need a chair. Mind if I ask what you're up to?"

And he wasn't taking subtle hints that she wanted him to leave. So, maybe time to be a bit more direct?

"...I was going to practice. Alone."

"And I was going for a walk to relax. Alone. Hell of a coincidence that we should bump into each other when we were attempting solitude, perhaps it's a sign or maybe even fate... Nah, probably just a coincidence."

Oh he got the hint, he got it loud and clear, but he wasn't leaving. Raven was, unfortunately for her, rather interesting, and Alex didn't exactly have anything better to be doing. So, might as well bug her and try to learn while he was at it.

"Charming, aren't you?" Raven snarked back, wrangling her annoyance. She took some time in her head, planning her next move. Honestly, in a community like this and a closed environment, keeping secrets would be incredibly difficult if not impossible. That didn't mean she had to reveal everything though--especially since with the collar on, she couldn't do everything she normally was capable of.

Letting herself float to the ground with an internal sigh, the empath figured it was better to start small. Seated on the ground, Raven refocused her breathing and center, trying to be aware while mostly tuning out the other presence.

There were other objects amidst the chair and weight--a few books, a blanket, some art-supplies. Raven started with the art-supplies; encasing them in dark energy and lifting them into the air. Gaining a feel for the control needed, the limits this put on her when it was an easy thing.

"Most people seem to think so, so I guess I am." Meet snark with more snark, that was Alex's general rule of thumb. Granted it normally ended with the other person annoying him to the point of murder, but so far that didn't seem likely to be an issue with Raven. Hell, she was vaguely amusing.

His head tilted to the side as he watched her do her thing, taking note of how her power visibly manifested. He noted how it was slightly reminiscent of the way Sasha and the other psychics manifested their telekinesis, except instead of a giant floating hand this was, well, he couldn't think of an exact word in his head to describe it, but it was much more stylish.

Raven was focusing---which meant she shouldn't reply. The art supplies were balanced carefully in the air, before they were sent spinning in a circle, and then increasingly more complex patterns. "...humble too. Next you'll be telling me what a great catch you are." Came the snarky reply anyways, without opening her eyes or losing her concentration.

A smirk played across his face at that comment. Really it was obvious she was concentrating and it'd just be rude to break that, but she'd given him the prefect set up. Besides he'd never seen a 'free-lance heroine' react to this news, not one that didn't know him anyway. "Well actually, that's probably true. I am the entire American government's single most wanted man back home, after all." A bit of a sinister undertone was put into that, he was having too much fun with it already.

"I'm sure, clearly being an in person obnoxious troll is a crime." Snark was evident in her tone. Although, it would explain the 'oddness' she felt around him that she couldn't place.

Slowly, one of the books rose to join the complex pattern being made by dark-energy-surrounded art supplies.

"I know, right? You'd think it was the bio-terrorism that would get you that spot on the wall of every Federal Agency in the country, but nope, they care more about a harmless little joke. No wonder the country's falling apart, huh?" Now it was getting hard to tell if he was joking or being serious, probably because it was a bit of both. Not really the reaction he'd been expecting, but it was a pleasant surprise from panic or sudden hostility.

He wasn't paying much attention to the objects after that, instead watching Raven rather intently. Briefly he wondered why the most interesting people he'd met were all teenage girls, people were going to start getting the wrong ideas because of this.

"I'll be sure to wash my hands then, as I wouldn't wanna get any of your germs on me." Raven retorted, still focusing and acutely aware that his attention was now on her instead of anything she was doing.

That was both a good and bad thing. Good, because it meant he'd ignore her testing her limits. Bad, because she did NOT like being focused on. Another book rose to join its mate in the air, and separated as the pair of tomes started doing their own complex patterns, while the art supplies continued in their dance in the air.

"Now that's just cold." He chuckled slightly, germs indeed, funny thing to say to the sentient virus, at least he thought so. "Bit extreme don't you think, I haven't even laid a finger or tentacle on you..." A pause, he was going to add yet, but then decided against it. Would have been a bit too creepy for his tastes.

"What do you think this is, some kind of anime?" Raven snarked back, suppressing the shudder down her spine. She needed to concentrate, after all.
