Who: Izaya and Dr. Nii Jianyi When: Thursday Where: Stone Maze, secluded corner Summary: Nii needs to check out his 'apprentice's' progress with dharmic lesson. Rating: PG? Warnings: Nii and Izaya... is warning enough.
Nii tilted his head a little to one side, sliding a cigarette between his lips as he watched the younger male with detached curiosity; he was well aware that his little apprentice lacked focus, yet regardless of this, the technique he was currently attempting to utilise was one that took some of the most dedicated monks years to master, if at all, and yet Izaya had begun to at least get the hang of it after little over a month. He couldn't deny that he was impressed, for all that he believed the other was not maximising his true potential. He observed the other for a few moments longer, lighting his cigarette and taking a deep, satisfying drag before making any comment at all.
"Well well, it seems as though you've been selling yourself short, Iza-kun~ You're really doing quite well, for all that you are failing to master your concentration. While you could be doing better, I am nevertheless impressed with your progress. Such a good boy~" he lilted in a tone that would have almost seemed fond, if one did not know he was incapable of fondness.
He couldn't held it long enough and materialized back to being normal, flesh and all in seconds. It took him a lot of of concentration and power to do that and it burnt him out in matter of seconds. He leaned back against the wall, feeling sweats rolled down his forehead as he regulate his breathing. He ought to be happy to received praise from Nii really, but their less than friendly relationship made that impossible. If anything, he was just glad to escaped whatever punishment Nii planned to execute if he failed his task.
He watched the other with his usual eerie sardonic smile as Izaya leaned back against the wall, clearly exhausted from his efforts; he was pleased, very in fact, if such sentiments could be attached to Nii's cold, empty being, but he felt as though the other could perhaps use a little push in order to achive his true potential, something that would give him incentive.
Within seconds, in a movement to swift for human eyes to follow, he was by Izaya's side, placing one hand on the boy's chest to keep in place whilst with the other he wiped the sweat from his brow with the crumpled sleeve of his labcoat in a gesture that seemed almost tender. "Oh dear, feeling a little worn out, are we?" he questioned in a genial tone as he looked into the other's face.
He immediately move his face out of the way at that! Jeez don't he ever shower?! He stinks!!! "I'm fine." Carefully trying to pried off Nii's hand from his chest, Izaya was making a lot of effort just to remained breathing. The stenched of Nii's cigarette smoke was like poison to his lung! And for the love of all things human, Izaya like his lung healthy, thank you very much! Dear humanity, if I die today, please exert my revenge on this sorry piece of meat. Love, Orihara Izaya.
Despite Izaya's efforts to remove his hand and despite Nii's deceptively wiry form, the younger male's exertions had no effect on the other's proximity to him, and for several lingering moments Nii continued to remain close to his student, observing him with the same cool yet intense detachment that was customary for him. Finally however, he lightly tousled the other's hair in an almost-affectionate manner before taking a step back, shifting his cigarette from his lips to his hand and allowing Izaya the space he so desperately craved.
"I suppose the question that needs to be answered now, is whether you've done well enough to deserve a reward, or whether you need a little more incentive to do better, ne?"
Izaya grunted in annoyance and moved to tousled his hair to rid it off whatever weird smells Nii had 'infected' it with before running his fingers across to fix it, his expression nothing but of annoyance. He can't fathomed why certain idiot wanted to get into his 'master's' pants. This man was disgusting and smelled like rubbish dump!
"That's a trick question since I have no freedom to choose." You had to do better than that to tricked him. Like hell he'll gave Nii more excuse to 'punished' him.
The older male chuckled eerily in response to that, the sound, despite its lightness, seemed to reverbrate from the cold, stone walls surrounding them. He made a dissaproving clicking sound with his tongue before responding to the boy's answer; at the very least, he knew his place, but such an answer as that failed to provide him with the entertainment he was looking for.
"On the contrary, Iza-kun, on this particular occasion I'm going to leave it up to you to decide. Or at least, to let me know which option you would prefer..." given that neither reward nor punishment was likely to be anything the younger male would actually enjoy...
He huffed, "Which mean it's just going to be between bad and worse. Do you even need to ask?" He shook his head and folded his arms in exasperation, tired of Nii's continuous antic of making his life miserable. "Incentive." Knowing Nii, if he didn't do better the next time he decided to test him, his life will simply went downhill. He was sure reward will be anything but reward.
The doctor tilted his head a little to one side as the younger male made his choice. Well. That was interesting. He hadn't expected his Kitten to choose the more menacing option of the two. But then, this was just one of the entertaining things about playing with people, they always retained the capacity to surprise you. He idly scratched the head of his toy rabbit, taking a deep drag on his cigarette as he considered what to do with the boy. He had been intending to introduce him to the contents of the bunny, but seeing as he had been such a good boy, it seemed a shame to terrify him quite that much.
"That's an interesting choice, you've made," he intoned liltingly, his mind finally made up and his smile taking on the quality of broken glass as he observed the other; at the very least, this should provide him with some amusement...
Izaya honestly had no idea which was the worse choice thanks to Nii always playing him up intentionally all the time. He simply chose whichever he thought might be the better choice, even so, he put no real effort into distinguishing them because he trusted Nii to simply switched them to his own fancies anyway.
"So I pick the wrong one." He sighed audibly, hating the man even more than he usually did.
"I suppose that depends on how you look at it," the doctor's smile inched a little wider, creeping insidiously across his face as he dropped his depleted cigarette to the ground and stubbed it out beneath the toe of his bunny slipper. He didn't want to scare his pet too badly, this was meant to spur him on after all, not turn him into a mental wreck, but there was no harm in playing with him a little. He was resiliant, after all...
Without another word, the older male made a simple flick of his wrist, bonds of dhramic energy wrapping around Izaya's wrists and and ankles, causing his arms to snap up above his head as he was pinned in place. Nii's smile grew wider still, becoming almost shark-like as he reached out a hand and cupped the younger male's cheek, that dark, empty nothingness beginning to bleed out of him, seeming to bleach out the light and air as it wrapped itself around them. It was far darker this time, far emptier and more crushing than it had been on the other occasions he had allowed Izaya to encounter it, making it feel as though there was nothing left in the universe beside Nii, Izaya and the void.
"Because a little incentive could help you achieve that which I know you have the potential to achive....and you wouldn't want to dissapoint me now, would you, Orihara Izaya?"
People don't usually reward their pet with torture, get that right before you claimed anything, Nii. He rolled his eyes at Nii and looked away, annoyed with the man who had claimed to be his master.
He groaned when the felt himself being held in place by that all too familiar dreadful power began to enveloped him. He clamped his eyes shut and tried his best to calmed his climbing fear to no avail as the pressure from it was far worse than he used to experienced. It freaked him out, to opened his eyes to nothingness, nothing but himself and Nii. Everything. Everything was gone. Disappeared. There was nothing but them and he struggled to breathed as the trauma from off week began to resurfaced from the depth he had banished them into.
Izaya heard nothing, he was too focused into shutting down his mind, shutting away the memories of that week... He needed to, needed to before he broke from the combined pressure...
Nii regarded the other with mild interest as h continued to hold him there in there emptiness that had seeped from his own dark soul, obsidian eyes glittering with impassive curiosity as he looked into Izaya's frightened face. So much more beautiful like this~ He stroked the other's cheek with something very close to affection as he sensed the fear rolling off him in thick, palpable waves, felt it wrapping around him like the sweet, heady scent of some delicious perfume. There was something different about it this time too, the quality of the boy's terror had intensified, making it all the more satisfactory for him to behold. He doubted he even had to add any extra flourishes to his little lesson in incentive, the poor thing seemed to be suffering enough as things stood, and he only allowed the depths of the darkness that surrounded them to thicken to the point of being just a fraction away from invoking unbearable madness, making no other move to demonstrate his power over his pet.
"Perhaps you should have chosen the reward after all, ne?" he all but whispered, leaning in close to the frightened male's ear, his long, dexterous fingers still curved around Izaya's cheek.
The glow in his red eyes was beginning to dimmed into pale soulless orbs as he continued to battled his trauma, his mind threatening to collapsed and shattered for good. It was too much to bared... He didn't wanted to be reminded of that week, of being so close to death, so near to non-existence, of being trapped, stoned and unable to do anything. He didn't want to fade away from existence. Didn't want to die. He tried so hard to shut them away, kept his feeling safe from them. But every single attempt he tried didn't work, they won't leaved him alone, that darkness kept pulling them out, reminding him over and over again...
Tears rolled down his cheeks as he sweat under the massive pressure, his entire body trembled, consumed by fear so strong he was sure he would lose it all... He wanted to yelled, wanted to tell Nii to stop but all he managed was an empty howl of agony...
Nii's brow furrowed just a little as he observed the way the tears dripped from Izaya's face, the way his slender young body shook beneath the pressure of the terror he was experiencing. It was truly a beautiful sight to behold, so beautiful he let out a light sigh of something very close to pleasure, but nontheless, he felt...something; it couldn't quite be described as concern, given that he didn't particularly care one way or the other if his toy snapped and shattered the way all the others had before him, but it was...unexpected. Evidently the systems shutdown had scarred his pet more than he had realised; he could almost feel his mind beginning to unravel, and it was such a temptation to push him the rest of the way, to let his beautiful abandon and absolute breakage wash over him along with that delicious howl of delectable pain, and Izaya would almost deserve it, for being this weak and dissapointing, but he still had hopes for him, and there would be time enough to crush him at a later date if he so wished it...
WIth another muted sigh, Nii began to draw that unyeilding darkness back into himself until the light crept back in around them and the pressure receded, leaving them standing once again in the mild evening sunlight. With another flick of his wrist, he removed the bonds that held Izaya in place, remaining close to him should the boy collapse in his weakened, terrified state. "There there, Kitten. Its over now. No need to cry, hmm?" he whispered softly as he moved to wipe Izaya's tears from his face.
When the darkness fade away, the haunting memories remained as he no longer had the strength to fought with them. The were more tolerable but it didn't matter anymore, not when he was already so drowning in them. It made no difference whether the darkness from Nii enhanced them, all Izaya could thought about was to be freed from this new burden he had to bared..
His knees buckled under him and he collapsed, making no effort to break his fall. He was tired and in pain, his entire body was screaming at him for the abused he had allowed on himself. Nii's presence didn't disgusted himself, but his own fear did...
