Jack doesn't really need sleep, or food, or drink; not to survive anyways. And right now he is still far too excited about this new place, the Facility. A bit wary, to be sure, but more curious overall. So, having already played with the TV in the suite he's in and collected a bottle of water and food bar for observation (and fiddled with the vending machine buttons) he's now moving on to books. Namely by settling himself in the Rec Room and going through whatever is in there. With notes on several sheets of paper, and books strewn around him.
