Emilia's neck was throbbing and stiff, twinging whenever she turned her head. It had been bad enough before her bout of healing that she'd been unable to move yesterday, but now , with the help of some painkillers, it was just about bearable to move. Really, she should still be convalescing, but Emilia had never been one to stay still. She had important things to do.
Finding Reno's body last week in the hallway was horrifying, even after all of the death she'd witnessed in this facility. It was horrible enough watching people die onscreen, but far, far worse to actually touch the stiffening, cooled corpse of someone who'd been teasing her just the day before. Right now she was making her way carefully across the hallway to see him. She needed more than just a video message to convince herself he was well.
