Axel saw the post, Axel heard about the picnic, Axel showed up, pretty as can be. And he brought more food bars.

"Heya, Steph."

"Axel! You really do keep promises." Steph beamed at him and the food bars and patted a spot on the sheet next to her, "Have a seat. Trying to enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts."

He really did make a lovely female~.

"Hey, that's all I've got in my room. I came here for something else," he drawled out his words in a bored manner, sitting down clumsily in a very masculine manner which looked rather strange coupled with his new form. The food bars he'd been carrying were dumped unceremoniously onto the pile.

"I'm sure you'll get your something else in good time. This has chaos written all over it."

There was bound to be some verbal battles if not physical ones. Plenty of not-girl fights. Maybe she'd gain some respect for Dick when she was the one breaking up the immature fighting instead of taking part in it.

"I hope this pile gets as tall as you."

"That doesn't mean as much this week as it would any other." He sighed, leaning back against a tree, arms behind his head. "So, who's comin'?"

"Oh come on, you're not that short." It could be worse. She could be as tall as Steph.

"Ummm.... everyone, I hope. I know Jade will be here with her friends, and I think Gamzee asked his friends. I don't know if Spike will stop by, but ... yeah. Everyone is what I'm hoping for."

"Well, I hope I was counted in that everyone," he tossed her a grin. "Huh...I think I met Gamzee the other day. Interesting guy."

"Obviously! I was totally counting on your awesomeness being here."

She laughs, "Interesting is an accurate description. He is definitely one of a kind. Actually, this whole picnic thing is actually for his sake."

"All for his sake?" Axel raised an eyebrow, smiling at the praise.

"Yeah. See... his friends, the trolls, aren't really getting along with everyone else and I don't want to see him upset about it after... the other day." She lowers her gaze briefly before smiling even brighter than before.

"I just don't want to see anymore stupid fights because of species anymore."

"Hm, neither do I. If we did fight about that, I think I'd be part of the outnumbered. But the trolls aren't so bad...at least the ones I've talked to."

[per_tinacious]

"Yeah, most of them are pretty awesome! Hilarious, if anything. That Equius guy, though... he really pushes my buttons." Always barking orders. Dumb kid. Grr.

"Would a nobody be a species? Or like... a sub-species? I honestly forget sometimes that you're anything but human."

"Oh, well, it's not like we're that much different," he ran a hand through his hair. "But these trolls. They're just, ah, interesting. Same as Gamzee."

This is in no way the sort of event Equius would show up for under normal circumstances. But Gamzee was going to be there, and given the unusual changes in the other troll's behavior recently, he... er, she, rather, was dead set on visiting. Not that this was too strange anyway, considering she visited or talked to Gamzee every day.

But so many humans. Already. So gross. And that simply awful one was talking to some other one about...

"What about Gamzee?" she interjects.

Speak of the she-devil.

"Hi, Equius." Steph greeted the troll flatly. "We were just saying how awesome Gamzee was. Want to join in?"
