He had been lying in bed, dull eyes staring at the white walls, the sheets bunched up in his hands. A small silver case was held tightly in his hand, some pills scattered on the sheets.
Another night was passing by, another day survived, another still to come. Always another.
He stayed silent, his mind far away as he tried to ignore the beating hearts nearby. Sometimes if he concentrated really hard, he could ignore the rushing blood through veins that were so easy to pierce--he closed his eyes and tried to sleep. The midnight hour was passing by and turning into the first hour of the day as he young Hunter tried fell asleep. His eyes remained closed and without his knowledge Zero was transported from his own bed to another--his brother.
He didn't notice the transport, but he did notice the presence of another, but that wasn't all he noticed. His Hunter senses were screaming at at him as soon as he was transported, sensing a vampire close by. Without a word, the Hunter reacted, years of training coming into play as he moved with the grace of a Hunter, and the speed of his prey. He rolled onto his feet, Bloody Rose--which was always clipped inside his school uniform--already in hand as the loud clip of the safety being taken off echoed in the room.
His steady hand pointed the gun at the vampire.
