Summary: Cloud's got to shake off his puppeteers and re-join reality.
Rating: PG-13 (R+ for Rufus's thread)
Warning: Cloud-grade emo whining, lots of crazy.

Cloud was a traitor.

Sephiroth had bestowed that title on him years ago, in a dusty basement that smelled of too many chemicals and not enough sanity. The whole human race had betrayed the Cetra, the General had said, and so their blood was on Cloud's hands. Not so long ago, Cloud had turned his back on the human race too, and every other living creature on Gaia, delivering the most powerful weapon on the Planet to Sephiroth. Later, the Remnants had called him traitor for fighting against the will of the Chosen One. Days ago, Cloud had betrayed the trust of everyone he'd befriended over the last few months, and everyone he'd promised that he would make the Visitor's Center a safe refuge.

And now, Cloud had betrayed his kid brothers. He'd allowed himself to be captured alive, and was letting the humans wear away his resolve to accept his proper role as Jenova's pawn. He couldn't feel them right now, it would take days to regain those senses, but he knew they were out there somewhere. And that they were very unhappy with him right now.

Dressed in the unnervingly foreign-feeling dino-print pajamas that Ichiru had smuggled from Isla Nublar, Cloud sat on his bed in Fac1 hugging his knees loosely to his chest. Grimacing from the pain of separation from so much Jenova, he let his head hang wearily. At least Cloud had his gloves, though he wasn't sure where he got them, and couldn't for the life of him remember what had happened to the rest of his uniform.
