This, Vincent has seen before. He was not, by any means, an unintelligent man. He knew a threat when he saw it. News of this gathering did not escape him, of course. How could it? Cloud, himself, seemed to deem it fit enough to not only divulge such information, but hunt him down to do so. This was not something he could ignore.
Those eyes, however...
It was not the first time. Vincent was not going to assume it would be the last. Cloud could trust himself, and but he could not trust him the way he once thought. Not completely. Someone needed to be distrustful of Cloud's actions, of his self. Better someone who knew what they were dealing with.
A mere, silent shadow --if ever he could be called such-- passing where Cloud had been. Death Penalty was a hidden weight underneath the mantle, a strap holding it across his back. Not a surprise, given that these people are who they are. Let Cloud have his distance, Vincent had a better vantage point from the wall near the door.
Sure, call him paranoid. He was fairly sure he had all the right reasons to be.
