It wouldn't be the first time Rude had pulled an all-nighter. Or the last. It was just part of the prerequisite. 'Must be an insomniac'. Not a particular difficulty around here, since there was enough to worry about around this place. Granted, he'd been alert, just off... somewhere else.

Guard duty just wasn't the same by himself.

The sudden, piercing noise wasn't exactly helpful. Except to wake Rude up a little more, who wasn't what exactly had gone on. He didn't need to. One swift roll of motion had the bald Turk inside the room, with one good look, dark sunglasses aside. Ichiru, Cloud-- Rufus in a fit.

Rude wasn't going to sit around and wait. It was easy enough to swoop down and scoop up Dark Nation, regardless of any dangers, to placate the creature on the way over the to the bedside. Equally heedless of Cloud. Placing one strong hand on Rufus' chest to hold him down, Rude had one command, "Sir, wake up."

Maybe it wasn't the right course of action, but he wasn't Tseng. Tseng knew how to handle Rufus more than he did in that aspect. What the others did was up to them.
