Rosette began to stir in the chair. She blinked blearily a few times trying to clear her head and immediately came to realize that her arms had been tied behind her back. She pulled at her bound wrists and tried to twist them free without success. As she started to struggle she found that her legs had been tied to the chair as well.

She took in a shaky deep breath to steady herself before looking around to take in her surroundings. It was a white room just like all the other ones she had seen in the facility. What stood out was what she assumed was her captor standing there. It was impossible to tell who it was with the mask and it worried Rosette. She had heard of people being taken for torture...

Determined not to seem as vulnerable as she was in her position Rosette glared right at where she knew the person's eyes were behind the mask. "What the hell are you doing?!" She yelled.

A snort of laughter, or what passed for it from behind the mask. "Down to business, aren't you?" It asked in a mechanical voice. "Good, no need for chit chat. I am Subject 002 and we're going to have a nice little talk, you and I." 002 didn't move closer; didn't move. It just watched her through those black hole eyes.

Rosette continued to glare at the masked figure. The voice was a little unnerving and no help to her in identifying who it might be. It was clear to her from the way the person spoke though that talking likely meant something much worse.

"If you wanted to talk then you should have just asked! This kinda stuff isn't called for!" She yelled back struggling against her ropes. Rosette wasn't about to give up and just cooperate with this person.

"Call it insurance," 002 said. "Now I know that you won't run out in the middle of our conversation. I'm sure you heard about the experiment this week. I want you to tell me what you know."

002 crossed to her but remained about four feet away, watching with its gloved hands at its sides.

Now she was a little confused. Sure it had said something on the observations about a disease, but no one seemed to be ill yet. It had looked like they were just trying to frighten everyone with that predicted mortality rate. "I don't know anything about it." She stated firmly. It was true that she didn't know why no one was ill. Usually what was written happened in her experience. Even though she should have been more worried about her situation she found herself wondering why this person was asking about that particular subject.

"Bullshit," 002 said. "You heard just like every other Rat in this maze. The doctor doesn't pull his punches. The virus wasn't stopped by the doctor, so I'm here to figure out what happened. And I want you to share your theories with me. Any and all. Tell me anything unusual." A pause then, somewhat cryptically, "the clock is ticking."

"Watch who you're calling a rat buddy! I don't know why the virus didn't work." Rosette grumbled between clenched teeth. She was never the best at controlling her temper and didn't think she was in the best position to be arguing, but she couldn't help herself. This person was working for the people keeping them prisoner and the situation was dangerous.

"We're all rats in here," 002 said. "Every single one of us." 002 tucked her chin as it said this, although the action seemed to be simply demeaning 002 moved her head slightly so that she could see the gloved hand when it came out of its pocket, encased in the fist just visible was the gold watch she usually wore around her neck.

Rosette's eyes widened when she saw the watch. She felt like such an idiot for not noticing it wasn't in it's usual place around her neck before this. "W-what are you going to do with that?" She asked trying to not to sound like it bothered her as much as it did. She wasn't sure if the person holding it even realized what they had. She had been careful not to run around telling everyone what it really was. Only a handful of people had any idea as far a she knew. That watch was her contract with Chrono and it had to be protected. Her life was in it and any hope Chrono might have of being able to defend himself.

"This?" 002 asked holding the watch out in front of it. 002 held its palm flat the watch resting unguarded between them. If Rosette could move her arms she'd be practically touching it. "Don't know," 002 said coldly. "That depends on what you say." It closed its fingers around the watch again.

The watch was so close to her and yet she couldn't get to it. Rosette tried to wriggle her wrists out of ropes again. Slowly this time so as not to draw attention to what she was doing. It wasn't working well, but she had to try to do something. "I already told you, I don't know why the stupid virus didn't work!" She said glaring up at the person standing in front of her.

The watch was tossed up into the air casually and caught by 002's other gloved hand. 002 repeated this, juggling the thing back and forth each time almost allowing the watch to fall, each time letting it come a little closer to the ground. But it was as if 002 didn't notice this. The gas-mask never turned away from her face.

"That's too bad," 002 said. "You must have a guess, don't you? Some inkling?"

With this last word the other hand didn't rise. The watch was falling. If she answered maybe...maybe that hand would shoot out and catch it. If she didn't....

Rosette couldn't help but follow the path of the watch with her eyes at least a little. This guy was screwing with her now and she didn't like it. Even if it was dropped the watch would probably be alright. It had been through worse. that had lead to some problems in the past though and there was no one she knew here to fix it.

"I told you I don't know! I'm not a doctor and I don't know anything about that kinda stuff!" Rosette blurted out squeezing her eyes shut and turning her face away. She prepared for the sound of it clattering onto the floor and hoped not to hear anything break.

Neither sound came. Just the dull slap of metal on latex. Then again and again as 002 began juggling the watch again. Then it stopped, the watch resting in the palm of its hand. The other disappeared into the other pocket producing a screwdriver with the ferocity of someone pulling a knife out on a mugging victim.

"Same question, one last time. But I'm adding to it. What do you know about Mello?"

Rosette peaked with one eye over at what was being done with the watch. She was a little relieved that it hadn't been dropped on the floor. When the screwdriver came out her eyes went wide again. This time she couldn't keep the panic out of her voice. "Don't! I can't tell you about what you're asking and I don't know anything about Mello!" She was disgusted with herself for giving in like that. She really couldn't give any answers to her captor, but she was afraid that she might have if she knew at this point.

A pause. The watch was still in the flat of her captor's hand, waiting for her. "Have you heard anyone anyone say anything about the virus? I mean anything even that they're so fucking happy it didn't happen. Who was it? What did they say?" The screwdriver was still out, still dangerously close to the watch face.
