Shikamaru didn't even think of the punishment that Tsunade might try to dole out for leaving the hospital without her permission. Chouji had been on his way to see him in the hospital, but the Akimichi had never showed up. Shikamaru had been starting to worry for his friend when he'd seen the familiar face on the system, and... This couldn't be happening. Five days underground, torture and starvation, and now his best friend...
Limping on shaky legs and with both arms still in slings, Shikamaru followed the feel of his friends chakra. He wasn't far, and the signature was still the same. He could feel that much, but the boy that he'd spoken to over the system... it wasn't Chouji.
He'd almost lost Chouji once before. This couldn't be happening.
