Emmett was still bleary eyed as he wandered the Facility corridors. He'd been awake a maximum of ten minutes. As comfortable as Yoh's sofa had been, he'd been so uneasy when he fell asleep he'd had a rather restless night.
He was looking forward to seeing Bado, there was something wonderfully frank about him. He was the sort of person Emmett could connect with, could understand . Lovely as some of his new friends were, he couldn't quite connect with them on an emotional level. Bado was different. And aside from that he never took Emmett too literally, which was the best way to handle the flamboyant queen.

Emmett found the right room and knocked on the door, looking utterly shit faced but not particularly caring.

Bado's head jerked up at the sudden knocking on his door. With a smile he rolled out of bed and sprang to the door. He opened it with a swift motion and grinned happily at the somewhat disheveled Emmett.

"There you are! I was startin' to get lonely. ... You okay, hun?" He wrapped an arm around Emmett's shoulder and escorted him inside and aiming him for the bed. "Have a seat, you need anything? I still have a little water left."

"Water would be great," Emmett nodded, taking a seat on the bed. He didn't have to fake a smile for Bado, didn't have to pretend. It was wonderful.
Emmett rubbed his eyes and tried to wake himself up a little. "You're a godsend hunny, you know that?" he smiled.

Bado handed Emmett a water bottle. "If you nurse it right it can last you all day." He smiled and plopped down next to the other.

Rubbing Emmett's back, Bado laughed, holding his cigarette between two fingers on his opposite hand. "A godsend? Hardly. I don't think the big man likes me that much to tell ya the truth. Least that's what Bishop is always joking."

"Don't even get me started on what the good lord apparently thinks of us," Emmett laughed, sipping a litle water gratefully. "I once paid to go to a group that was supposed to help gays 'return from the pits of sin and see the light of God to guide them away from their shameful homosexual behaviour so God would love them once again. All that did was fuck me up. If God didn't want me to be gay then he shouldn't have mae me this way, that's what I say." Emmett screwed the top back on the bottle and gestured widely with it, leaning in to Bado and grinning. "And I don't see the problem - it's just a bit of cock," he shrugged.

"Truth is, I could care less about the Old Man upstairs. He hasn't struck me or Haine down for hanging out in Bishop's church yet, so he must not give a damn about that or killing mob gangsters." Bado cocked his head to the side, looking sideways at Emmett. "You should have got your money back."

The redhead erupted into a long laugh at the last thing Emmett said. Once he recovered, he nodded his head in agreement. "No problem at all."

Emmett laughed along with him, then grinned.
"Haven't laughed like that in a while," he sighed. "I'm startin' to get pretty homesick - missing my friends. Wonder how they're doing, eh? Our people back home I mean. Darn I miss 'em - Michael and Teddy and Sunshine and Deb, Mel and Linz, God help me I even miss Brian Kinney!" Emmett laughed again. "I'm glad I made some new friends though," he gave Bado the sweetest smile, hazel eyes sparkling with gratitude. It was just nice to have someone to talk to who understood him.

Bado took a deep breath. "Me neither, not since before they took Haine away." A small glint of sadness entered his eyes, but he quickly pushed it away. At the mention of the last name, Bado's eyebrows rose. "Brian Kinney? You knew him? He was actually here a while ago... I guess that means the sent him back home... hn."

Bado returned the warm smile. It was nice to be appreciated on this level. It was nice for someone to look to him for comfort, for protection. He didn't get that a lot around here. It was nice to say the least.

sorry for late reply - fail :( fetchdixon August 24 2009, 19:13:30 UTC
"Wow, Brian was here?" Emmett gasped. "... That's odd. Bet he didn't like that!" Emmett grinned at the thought of bRian coping without Babylon, without his job, without boozem without his loft - it didn't bear thinking about.
There was a silence and Emmett looked around him calmly.
"Soo... what d'ya wanna do?" he asked.

It's ok ^^; bado_nails August 25 2009, 06:49:56 UTC
"Yeah, he wasn't here for very long. But, I guess that's a good thing, right?" Bado shrugged.

Bado didn't really mind the silence so much. He didn't have to constantly be running his mouth in order to enjoy someone's company. In fact, he was a fan of sitting or laying with a person and doing nothing. That level of comfort between two people was something that you earned. Something that only friends, or more, did.

"Ummm, I dunno. The only thing I have here that's any kinds of exciting is my cigs." He smiled in a teasing way. "I didn't know I had to entertain you, heh. Do you have anything in mind?"

Emmett opened his mouth to reply, the close it again. He didn't trust himself to reply to Bado's question. Bado was his closest friend in this place, the last thing he needed was to stick his foot in it and come on to him - that could ruin everything. So instead of answering he just gave Bado a sweet, inocent smile and shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

Bado raised an orange eyebrow. Well now this was a bit awkward. The red head couldn't help but wonder what Emmett was about to say. Being a private investigator, it was second nature for him to be curious.
"You know, we are friends. You can tell me things. Trust me, I'm pretty damn hard to get offended." He grinned and poked Emmett's side with his free hand.

Emmett grinned sheepishly and then said very simply, "It's been over six weeks..."
He giggled nervously and flushed slightly.

It didn't immediately click for Bado. "Over six weeks...? For what...?" The redhead thought for a few minutes before looking a little surprised. "Oh... Shit. I can't remember that last time I... Hmm."

"You want to? ... With me? Really?" Bado was genuinely shocked.

Emmett looked flustered, he avoided Bado's gaze and shook his head.
"Forget I said anythin', jus' me bein' silly again. Shouldn't open my mouth... really shouldn't..." he waved his hand as though attempting to wave away what he'd said. He felt embarassed for some reason, nervous even. Wanting sex with total strangers was fun and easy and unintimidating... but wanitng sex with someone you actually knew was awkward, and kinda scary...

"Ahhh.. Wait, Em, I'm sorry. You just surprised me is all. It wasn't a bad thing." He smiled a bit sheepishly as well. "You have to understand, I'm not used to gettin' offers like that... at all."

"... Can I ask why?" The question was innocent, there was no trace of anything that could be considered bad. Just, some part of Bado wanted to know if this was just a casual thing or if Emmett wanted something more.
