Who: Kadaj and Mello
When: Shortly after Near's murder.
Where: An empty suite and a bathroom.
Summary: Mello called for Kadaj to come find him...

Kadaj was numb as he made his way through the hallways. He knew where he was going, sure enough, but he just couldn't seem to bring his mind to wrap around what had happened. Near was dead, so was the other Wammy child that had shown up so recently. Mello... Kadaj hadn't seen him like that in a long time, and he didn't like it. He wondered if he had been so broken when he died...
The Remnant pushed those selfish thoughts away. He needed to focus on Mello now. He needed to focus on getting him somewhere safe, on protecting him...even if it was just from himself. Kadaj made his way into the room; the suite where he had some vivid memories... The blonde man was there, slumped in front of a closet door. His chin was resting against his chest, breathing deep and even despite the sickening smell of blood and death that was around. The Remnant cringed at the thought of what was in the closet behind him, and knelt down in the puddle of blood, leather bound hands gentle as he ran his knuckles against Mello's cheek.
"Hey... Mello... wake up..."
