So, is there a reason everyone's acting like something weird's going on? Unless "making people forget what other people were like" is a test and I'm exempt for some reason.

[ Molly quirks an eyebrow, looks down at her hoodie, and looks back up ]

No? I mean, I know I don't wear it 24/7 or anything, but it's this or scrubs.

[ though to be fair, she does wear scrubs about half the time since the breakout ]

Well, I mean, yeah, but...

Wait, that's your only clothes? You were just wearing jeans the other...

Wait.

I..

I recognize that kind of sweater.

Well, since I was wearing it when you met me...

[ thoughtfully ] Maybe it's selective amnesia. You forget little things about other people. Like what they wear, or that they're a magical pony...

You mean at your father's house, when you were...what was it, eight?

Molly, tell me you remember and this isn't like the time I thought I was a duck wizard who ran around in a spaceship with a kid in clown shoes.

[ Molly's expression loses... a little bit of that spark that makes it come across as legitimate emotion because hm, she remembers having a father. Not that he was actually her father...

She tries to keep up the vaguely amused expression, though, and she does a relatively good job of it ]

A duck wizard, huh? Interesting. But no, I mean like a month ago when I got here?

[harry_b_dresden]

No. I mean you got here a month ago, but...

This is one of those weeks. Jesus. I'm sorry, Mol. Sometimes they change things...

What do you remember?

[ No, see, no, she doesn't want to go into that, because it just makes her think too much about that overwhelming gaping aching nothingness in her, and that's one thing she really doesn't feel like doing. ]

I dunno, Harry, that could take a while, going over everything I remember? 'Cause, I mean, that's a lot of stuff. Like, I remember that one time a minute ago when you said you thought you were a duck wizard. And I remember meeting your dumbass bassist girlfriend. And...

[harry_b_dresden]

Yeah, I know, memories are strange things where you're from. [He frowns] I was from there, once, I remember.

But you're wearing that hoodie. That's the same hoodie Axel and Rox wear. Wore? I don't know, what are they this week? [He shakes his head] Either way.

You're Molly carpenter. You've got a mom, a dad, bunch of little brothers and sisters. They all love you, and you love them.

In a week, you're gonna get it all back.

[padawanwizard]

[ Molly's expression goes flat - not completely emotionless, her lips are pressed together and her eyes are narrowed slightly, but it's... not much of an effort for anger. ]

Fine, you know what the hoodie means, good for you, magic man. So here's a tip - don't talk to Nobodies about what they had before. 'Cause see, I remember her family. Gaggle of dorky little brothers and sisters. And she went and got her heart taken to keep them safe because she loved them oh so much.

I don't. End of story.

[ She remembers that feeling, that warmth in her chest when she-- when that other girl that she's not-- thought of her family.

That's one of the worst things to remember, because it just highlights the fact that she is incapable of that warmth. All she's got is nothingness.

And then, as suddenly as it disappeared, that flippant, teasing smile is back, apparently as sincere as it was before. ]

Seriously, though, dude. A duck wizard? I mean, I'm not saying I haven't met some smart ducks, but you're really not the duck type.

Molly, be serious. This is an experiment. it's happened to me before, I remember what it was like. But through the week, trust me, things will start to not line up. Wonder why nobody's recognizing anybody else? It's because they haven't always been like this.

You're my apprentice, Molly. It is my duty to keep you safe and that involves keeping your heart where it belongs.

If I could do the same for Axel and Roxas I could, but they're going to be going back to what you've got right now, and there's nothing they can do about it.

You? You'll be fine, Mol. Listen to me. This isn't about...the distant past, or anything, this is about last week, and the week before that. When everything was normal and Tsunade didn't have so many bits of metal in her and you two were bickering because you've both got the same crazy stubborn streak so bad you won't admit to a silly misunderstanding.

[padawanwizard]

Okay, first, Roxas is a dumb kid, but he definitely has a heart. Second, what are you gonna do, magic my heart back into me? Or do you think it's just hidden and I'm delusional. 'Cause last time I checked, which was... [ she pauses and presses her fingers to her neck, thoughtfully ] just now, I don't have a heartbeat, which is something people with hearts tend to have.

So maybe you're right. Great, peachy, I guess we'll find out next reset, won't we? That changes anything right now... how, exactly? Since, y'know, I don't remember being quite that chummy with you, and I sure don't remember not being me.

[ she rolls her eyes and waves him off ] Jeez, this is boring. I have better things to do than argue with you.

[ aaaand that's the feed cut. She's just gonna... run through some practice forms with her Macguyvered practice glaive. ]

[He stares at the blank feed for a moment]

They made me a duck they can temporarily take your-

Well maybe I AM gonna figure out a way, what do you think of-

After a second, he grabs a few sheets of paper and starts scribbling]
