[It's a good thing he arrived when he did because yesterday was a mess, to put it simply. If the surroundings are any inclination of what occurred the day prior, the fact that the earth is still wet with destruction, then he's beyond not only deeply curious about where he has found himself that morning, if you could call it that, but also what left the room in such a wreck. Morning normally would come with sunrise but even though the device he found on his person upon arriving to the place, said it normally would be ripe with daylight, it looked more like something apocalyptic than a normal 08:54AM.

Hanging upside down from cord that was suspended he kept his figure in the shadows which were perpetual, sliding down further towards the rooftops of a nearby building, or at least what remained of it.] Well.

This doesn't look promising. [He chimed namely to himself, searching around his person with a free hand to see what may be left of his gear--all in place, at least that was a good thing.]

[So, they're still here. Awesome. The escape plan didn't work and they're still here. And now everything's broken. Might as well go around town to see if there's anything useful left. She notices Dick out of the corner of her eye as she walks by the building he's on, stopping and turning to look at him better. It's dark but she'd know those blue stripes anywhere]

...Nightwing? [OH GOD, PLEASE SAY THEY DIDN'T DECIDE TO DE-AGE DICK]

WHY HELLO THERE tagend January 21 2012, 18:54:05 UTC
[The voice is familiar enough that he does not feel the need to find defense. He would know that voice anywhere, even in the strange situation that he currently voice himself in. Still, he turns around and looks to the other--noting that she is standing. Well now, this is not familiar.

A small tilt to the head and his eyes widen a little, before he allows a pause in the silence and a small smirk grows upon his lips. A good enough mask for the uncertainty of the situation.] Well.

This is unexpected. I thought you'd be a little more excited to see me.

[The pause is pretty telling, as she's gotten used to people coming in and being surprised she can walk. This isn't the Dick who's been here with her for months now, at least she doesn't think so, but it's still Dick]

Completely thrilled, Boy Wonder. [Ah, old nicknames. She isn't sure how old he is right now] I'm just very good at hiding it. Enjoying the view from up there?

[Well--despite the situation seemingly odd from the time in which he came, he still smiles a little more at the familiarity of the nickname and the attitude of the other. It was nice to see her like this again, not like it changed anything how he thought of her in in his own realm because she was strong, despite circumstances.] Then try smiling, I'm getting mixed feelings here.

[At her last comment his gaze turns upwards.] Certainly isn't home, so a view is a view. At least it's something new to look at.

[Oh, she missed this. That gets her to smile]

Well I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable.

No, it certainly isn't home. Not even Gotham has ever looked this bad. But it would also be way more effort to explain it fully to you so I'll just say that there's time travel involved. I'm probably from a totally different point in time than you are.

There we go--that's more like it. [He comments at the smile and nudges the side of her face playfully with a fisted handed, brushing his knuckles against the others cheek then letting it drop.]

I was guessing as much. Time travels enough to confuse any person, but it's nice too see you on your feet and around here. Familiar faces are always welcome in foreign places.

Your's has always been a help.

[This is more familiar territory. After six months here, it's strange but it's also comforting]

You're not the first person from home to show up here and be surprised that I'm walking. I'm used to it by now.

And straight to the flattery. Some things never change do they? [But she laughs a bit, so clearly she doesn't mind. He won't be here long, obviously, but it's sort of nice to talk to him. Like she could really avoid Dick even if she wanted to]

Did you expect me to change? I didn't go through a personality swap or anything when I arrived. [At the laugh he smiles more and gives her a pat on the back before turning to look back out to the landscape.]

This place is a mess. I don't think I've seen a disaster like this in well--ever.

No, of course not. You'll never change. [Which is true enough. Even if the Dick she's used to has had a rough time, he's still the same in the end. She just needs to find a way to take some of the pressure of his stay here off his shoulders]

You think this is bad, you should have been here yesterday. This is after the fires died down. It was...an attempt to get out of here. One that obviously didn't work.

Well I'm glad you think so. Rough patches and all that, everyone moves past them in their own way. [He laughs softly and moves to take a seat on the edge of the wall that has come jutting up from the ground.]

Though--any self-help book could tell you that. [At the second comment he looks up at her, furrowing his brow.]

Sounds like a war ground and looks like it should have worked somehow.

Oh, but you're so much prettier than a self help book. [She kicks at a piece of rubble, looking around and giving him a shrug]

Looks like it should have worked, probably should have worked but didn't. We're still here, after all.

Oh now? Whose the flatterer in this case? [Watching the piece of rubble roll across the ground he kicked it to the side when it neared him.]

How long have you been here?

I have to keep your ego afloat somehow, don't I?

Six months, I think. Somewhere around there. It seems like a lot longer.

You've always been good at it. [He laughs, giving her a playful look.]

Six months, huh? So this thing I was shown about the clones is true? Because I am certain that I've seen you more recently than that.

I try. [She just smiles and rolls her eyes in response, giving his shoulder a light shove]

It must be. Unless they're capable of pulling people from all different points in time without changing the timeline at all or having anyone from home notice.
