Welcome to Day 8 of Hope’s End! This is where guest writers can have their characters post to the network. These posts will be handled the same way as any other post to the network, but we'll keep them grouped together for everyone's sanity.

All guest characters arrived in Hope’s End with a communicator that resembles a Blackberry. These have text, ( Read more... )

[Puck is not on the network. As curious as the strange metal picture-box was, it was a mortal contrivance and not something that should be toyed with by fey folk. Instead, he's been wandering, taking in the sights from the shadows, and now, well, curiosity seems to have gotten the better of the hobgoblin. Else he's planning something. Always difficult to tell, with even the most honest Puck.

Either way, it seems he's taken an interest. And so you will hear a rustling, see a flicker of golden brown fur on the edge of your vision, experience the acute feeling that huge slit eyes are on the back of your neck.

This is a fun game, and one the Puck is rather good at, but eventually he'll give himself away. A low chuckle, maybe from above, maybe from behind. Nothing's certain with him but for one thing: Robin Goodfellow is a tricksy one to find.

[Perhaps it's his comrades fault that he's become more aware of the stranger things in life, perhaps it's that he is finds himself more open and knowing to the faults in the surface and the warnings of danger. At the moment he would blame the inability to remain in a perfect state of denial to the instabilities of the world on the training of his faux father figure and at the moment he is wishing that maybe he was unable to be so in-tune with such oddities because he would rather not think he is going mad.

The movement out of the corner of his eye as he walked through the town caused him to tense and slow his steps. It was not everyday that he felt like he was being followed and was not aware who they were because when it was a tease from a friend it often became obvious. Right now though, Timothy found himself feeling exceedingly nervous as he suddenly stopped in his tracks, brows furrowed.

Maybe if he just held still, it would become clear to him sooner or later.]

[There's an acute feeling of frustration and impatience as Timothy stands, and in a moment there's a voice.

It's quite a nice voice, actually, coming from a being composed mostly of voice and eye and smile and not much else, purring and deep, but all the same it manages petulance quite well]

Oh come now, mortal, do something amusing.

[If he turns, of course, there will be nothing. Some things are just matters of style]

[Turning around towards the voice he tensed and narrowed his eyes, hoping to spot the figure but alas his vision is filled with only the surrounding area. Clenching his fists slightly he takes a few steps back, eyes attempting to remain alert and aware.]

I am not a show for your pleasure, whoever you are.

Whoever I am? [The voice chuckles, and despite the fact that it's still seemingly a whisper from just behind him, a little flash of golden brown just beyond the next dune]

Come now, mortal, address me by my proper title...

Not as if you don't know it. Lord... [He laughs again, pausing dramatically]

What fools these mortals be.

[That last line is all he needs before he visibly tenses. The reality of the situation seemed ironic, that this chance meeting could occur and while he would have deemed it strange before, now that he had almost been living his this world a year--it seemed common place, but not for this particular character.] You say that but you are the one hiding away.

What is that saying again--coward, why com'st thou not?

[ah, a fan... Puck is momentarily annoyed that yet another mortal believed that his life ended and began with those events, but at the same time...]

Mostly because it pleases me to watch you fluster so.

[The voice is directly above him now, and in fact, Timothy will get a glimpse of his wide, smiling face if he so chooses to look up, but then it will simply be gone]

the question, though, is why such frustration directed towards a good and honest fellow?

[The glimpse is gained but still he turns in attempts to follow the other--wanting to see more of a fully body figured even though he is mild disbelief at the situation.] An honest and good fellow? Are you certain for such a trickster?

I heard that you sometimes get too far in your games.
