Hope's End Guest Post: Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of Hope’s End! This is where guest writers can have their characters post to the network. These posts will be handled the same way as any other post to the network, but we'll keep them grouped together for everyone's sanity.

All guest characters arrived in Hope’s End with a communicator that resembles a Blackberry. These have text,

[The man wondered down one of the roads, taking in the sights. He didn't know where he was, but he was sure it wasn't a place he knew. Being a stray, it really didn't matter to him though. One story or another, did it really matter? A hum came to his lips as he walked further. Who would take this stray in tonight?]

[ Kotetsu just stepped out of a local bar, and the smile is evident in his features. He’s not drunk, which is an accomplishment. He was so proud of himself. So proud that he might have fist bumped himself and-

--alright, he’s a little tipsy.

He noted someone approaching and out of habit, he greeted him. ]

[He could see that the man was tipsy, it was clear from the way he moved. That wasn't Cheshire's concern though, he needed to be looking for a place to stay. He wasn't into men taking him home, but he did raise his hand in greeting at the very lest. It was easier that way and maybe the other could be of use in the end. His cheshire smile came across his lips as he stopped.]

[ Okay, a minute to stare at his ears, but it didn’t linger. He didn’t want to offend him anyway. ]

You must be one of the new guys, yeah? Listen, It’s kinda dangerous to be wandering around on your own.

[Cheshire grinned a bit more at the look that lingered on his ears, one ear moving a little to the side. He was used to having a few of those looks from most of the girls who came to wonderland, so he knew it well.]

Dangerous? How will I survive? [his ears lowered a bit] I'm not a fighter, just a stray.

[tigerific]

Um. [ Seriously, how can he not stare. It was so weird, especially when they moved. Yes, he totally thought they were fake, and that guy is into … this kind of stuff and .. yeah.

He clears his throat, smiling a bit awkwardly and raising his hands. ]

Ah, don’t be sad! I’ll help out. I might be able to find you a nice room at the building I’m currently staying in.

[that look was priceless. He was quite pleased with himself at the moment. For the most part Cheshire was ignored in Wonderland, so this attention was probably more amusing to him then to the other. The Hatter would have pulled his gun out at him already. Yes, this man was of use after all, at lest in an entertaining way.]

Oh? I don't normally go home with men, though perhaps you could spare a few scraps of food for this stray.

Hah? [ He tipped his head to the side, not really sure of what the other is implying there, and when it hit him- Kotetsu couldn’t help but to laugh. There’s a pause and then he shakes his head. ]

No, no! I, uh, didn’t mean it in that way! Like- I wouldn’t pick up random people in the streets and like- no! I was just trying to help out, you know! Since it’s dangerous, and the ears and the sad face … had to do something. [ He rubs at his chin. ] If it’s weird for you …

[Oh yes, he was very amusing. Of course Cheshire hated going to bed alone, but his hunger was winning out over his need to find a bed to share. So he changed the tone of his voice to teasing and hoped that the other would feed him if he played it off as a joke. He could always go wondering again after that.]

If you tell me your name then we're acquaintances. It's less odd for you to give me food then, yes?

[ Hey, don’t get him wrong. He didn’t want Cheshire to think of him as some sort of perverted creep, but he seemed pretty cool with it and so-- he relaxed a little, feeling a tad silly for overreacting. ]

Don’t be stupid, I wouldn’t let you out in the street and starving. Tch. [ He smiles, offering his hand to shake. ] I’m Kotetsu.

[action] must sleep now. I'll tag again in the morning!

[Cheshire wasn't sure if he enjoyed the thought of shaking Kotesu's hand since it wasn't a gesture normally given to him. It was polite of him to offer, so he decided to shake back accordingly.]

I appreciate your kindness. It's so rare to see it so blindly given. [the tone of his voice was again in a teasing manner, but there was truth in what he said] You may call me anything you wish, though most call me the Cheshire cat.

Cheshire Cat. Got it! [ He nods, determined to remember that name because-- clearly it's a challenge when he's light-headed. He released his hand and grinned happily. ]

Let's go, buddy! My place is nearby, so we wouldn't have to walk much.

[ As he turned to leave, Kotetsu stumbles a little, but he managed to keep his balance. He's totally proud of himself. Now, let's see if he can keep it up throughout their walk. ]

[Buddy? Yes, this man was one to jump to trust. Cheshire cared not as long as he was feed. When the other stumbled, he made no effort to try to help him. Even if Kotetsu did eventually fall, it would be more amusing to watch]

Oh? What kind of food will I have there? Fish would be nice, though I'll take anything.

Um. I hope you like chicken? Well ... of course you do! It's chicken! Heh.

[ Sorry, Cheshire. Kotetsu managed to hold his ground until they reached the place. The door was unlocked, and possibly wide open for anyone to enter. Oopse? Anyway, it's empty and the food is still there! He'll just heat it up for you. ]

You know- I'll actually miss this place.

[Oh, Cheshire didn't really mind. There was always other ways to amuse himself. Cheshire sat at a chair close to the kitchen to watch the other heat the food up.]

To miss a place is an act of regretting leaving that place, yet you're still in this place. Isn't it silly to already think on an action you haven't even done yet?

[ That earned Cheshire a tired smile; if only that guy knew what he truly meant. No point in whining about it, though. So he let it go. ]

Yeah, I guess you're right.

[ Once he was done, he made his way over and placed the plate on the table before him. Hopefully, Cheshire will enjoy the chicken legs, fries and mashed potatoes. ]

Sorry, it's not much. [ He rubs at the back of his head awkwardly. ] I got some beer if you want ...
