[012] Barbara Gordon (with Cassandra Cain) [accidental video]
[The device is recording from a table in the saloon, resting next to Barbara’s hand. She’s seated at the table with a dark haired girl and they seem to be talking about something]
I’m still not sure I understand how exactly you managed to break your communicator.
[Cass is quiet at the statement. She goes looking through her pockets and after a few moments, she’s tossing something onto the table. Then another, and another. When she finishes, it looks like they’re bits and pieces of a ‘berry. She looks embarrassed as she shrugs and looks away.]
… It wouldn’t turn on.
[Barbara just stares at the pieces on the table, reaching over to pick one up and examine it before sighing]
It’s fine. I guess you’ll just have to stay with me for the rest of the time you’re here. But if you didn’t know how to make it turn on, you should have asked for help. I would have shown you.
[She’s listening. Then for the briefest moment, there’s a smile on Cass’ face at the statement before it falls and she looks back down.]
Its... really okay?
It’s fine. It happens. You’re not the first one to break one of these, I’m sure. And I don’t mind having some company for a while. [Especially with Dick still comatose]
I would... like that. [A nod and her expression is brighter than moments ago as she looks back up.] Thank you, Barbara.
[There’s a small smile in response. She’s starting to warm up to this girl. Too bad she’s leaving when this trip is over] We should go back. I needed to get away from all those people but I think it’s been long enough now.
[And all at once she’s getting up, picking up a piece of the broken ‘berry and scrutinizing it. Cass puts it back down then shrugs, looking back to the redhead.] Okay.
