[Okay, Facility, have a Bucky who is not, NOT happy. In fact, he looks kind of freaked out, though he's managed to mask most of it. Still, if you know him very well at all, you'll realize that he's clearly thinking that something is wrong. If you're wondering, he's not in costume, just wearing a black bodysuit underneath a blue plaid overshirt.]

I'm up for that. I don't know whether I should be wary or happy there's a real sky above our heads right now. Or a real enough one for me.

[He's itching to take a spin in it.]

It ain't a real sky, there's usually a dome around these places. It's usually pretty big, but still. I want to see if there's anything outside town. Meet me at the hotel?

I'll be there. [grin] Just give me a second to burn off some of this excess energy or else things could get a little hot for you. [Maybe a lap or two.]

Right. Hurry it up, Hot Stuff. [He's grinning slightly, not that Tom can see it. It'll be nice to be working with someone he knows like the back of his hand again. He likes the capes from the other universes, he really does, but... They're no substitute for fellow Invaders.] I'll finish taking care of some communications stuff until you get here.

[Toro just snorts.] We're in a desert, Buck. Hot is what this is all about.

[He'll be taking a lap around or two around the little town and then heading back toward the hotel.]

Guess you're right at home then, huh?

[Bucky will be waiting in front of the hotel, seated on a bench, 'berry in hand as he handles communications things. Getting organized in this situation is a pain in the ass with all the temporary newbies...]

Not exactly, but this is as close as I'm going to get here. [Getting to move around and fly is amazing and he never realized how much he missed it when he retired until he was suddenly doing it all over again.

And he sees Bucky down there so comes down in a low swoop, keeping some distance because he doesn't know how flammable all these wooden buildings are. And he'd rather not accidentally find out.]

[When he sees Tom touch down (hard not to) he puts away the communicator in a pocket on his belt, the one from his costume (though it's missing the red, white and blue trappings for now - he's not sure about running around as Captain America, so the black bodysuit will have to do), and walks out to meet him.]

Yeah, for the moment, anyway. The base is pretty well set up and Ms. Marvel, Spiderwoman and Superman will be gathering supplies. We need to figure out a defense strategy for the town in case we get another band of raiders like we did on the last trip to a western town...

[Tom cools the flames, pulling the heat back inside himself until there's none visible.]

The town seems pretty straight forward from up there. Tinier than an ant hill. Corral in the center, buildings around the perimeter. But you've got the keener eyes, so you might catch something I'll miss.

I've been hearing tell about ghosts and bandits. Mostly I don't want another Haven. You're lucky you weren't there for that trip, pal. The whole town was attacked, then; we had to mount a large defense. I want to be prepared in case something like that happens again.

[He offers a hand - the metal one, of course.] Ready to go?

[Action]

If I had been there I could have just roasted the lot of them. [Oh Toro, what happened to the days when you hesitated to kill things? Oh yes, the 50s. He lets the flames rise again, forcing out as much energy as he can and then pulling it back away from his hand that reaches out to grab Bucky's.]

Let me know if things get to hot for you. {Too bad it's hard to notice the smirk under all the flames.]

Things weren't so bad the first time. Everyone still had their powers, they caught us by surprise but there are a lot of powerful people here... The week after that, though, they raided the place again twice, but the bastards in charge had turned everyone's collars gold. Meaning no powers. There are a lot fewer trained fighters than there are powered ones. It was... overwhelming.

[He's not going to talk about his own capture. Nope. Bucky just reaches out to take his hand and gives Tom a slight smirk of his own.] When have I ever complained?

Oh right, that was me, wasn't it? [laugh]

I know how to handle myself without the fancy fire powers, but good to know that they might cut the power on us whenever they want. [Because it really sucked when his powers shut off the last couple of times. And with that they're going into the air, shooting up over the buildings and doing a quick spin before taking a wider berth of the town.]

Damn right it was. [He manages a little laugh himself, glad Tom didn't press about Haven. It wasn't pretty.]

I know you can, but fair warning. The losing power thing does happen some weeks, and after you come back from dying. [Bucky grips onto Tom's forearm just tight enough to keep himself from slipping as they lift into the air. It's just like old times, streaking through the sky into battle with the Invaders again... He watches the landscape carefully as they pass over it. Nothin' but the town.]

This sure brings back memories, doesn't it?

[Toro finishes one slow lap, keeping high up enough that they can see most of the town easily.]

Buck, just being around you brings back memories you, old codger. Now you said there's a dome right? How far away do you think it is?

[He's been grateful for his metal arm before, but this is another time to add to the list - the heat doesn't bother him so much, his hand isn't sweating and threatening to let him slip. It's kind of convenient.]

Who the hell are you callin' a codger? You're technically older'n I am. [He glances upward.] Yeah, should be walled in on all sides. I'm not sure how far it extends. Keep goin' up until we find it?
