'Though this may seem like a strange request, Misaka would like to know if anyone has any Ketchup, or perhaps the means to make some,' Misaka puts in a request for the condiment for her own purposes. 'If of course, anyone who has what Misaka needs, though does not feel like giving it up for free, perhaps a trade can be met.'

What do you need ketchup for? I don't think it'll make the food stop tasting like cardboard even if you slathered it with it.

'It is not for the food bars,' Misaka announces as she tries to keep it secretive.

Um. [What.] It's sort of hard to believe you when you're telling me you're trying to keep it a secret. Sort of like... now I'm wondering what the heck you plan on using it for.

'Misaka is not using it for anything bad,' Misaka explains honestly as she hopes that that is not what you are thinking. 'It is for.. a project.'

[Well, at least it's hard as hell for her to lie, considering the narration.]

...Ketchup?

I don't think I've ever eaten something with that name, before.

'To be honest, neither has Misaka,' Misaka admits that she knows what it is, but has never eaten it.

[...Though #9982 might know.]

[She shakes her head.]

'No, it is for 9982, not this Misaka,' Misaka explains that she is trying to allow 9982 some difference in edible matter.

'None of your business,' Misaka dismisses harshly.

It's a pretty strange request, especially when there's no food here.

'Many here have supplies,' Misaka points out that it isn't that strange of a request.

”Why do you need ketchup?” Misaka inquires hopefully, already tasting the sweet tomato condiment as she speaks.

[SHIT. Misaka is quickly locking up the reasons in her head so that 9982 cannot get to them.]

'It is for a surprise,' Misaka explains that you are not allowed to know yet.

"What kind of surprise would involve Misaka and ketchup, unless you are going to give ketchup to Misaka?" Misaka points out.

"Also, if you will gather ingredients for ketchup and make it yourself, make sure to only use very ripe tomatoes, and plenty of sugar. Misaka would note that she much prefers the use of real sugar in such a recipe to high fructose corn syrup, which is the the more commonly used sweetener in commercial ketchups, but it would be nearly impossible to obtain such an ingredient in this environment. Though quality ketchup is sweet, do not use too much, or the sweetness of the sugar will overpower the tomato flavor. It would also be wise to use a variety of spices that compliment the tomato and the sweetness. All this said, it is more practical to try to find commercially produced ketchup, which someone may be storing. Tomatoes can only last days from peak ripeness to rot, but such ketchups are full of preservatives and can last for years," Misaka instructs in great detail.
