[When the feed clicks on there’s Feferi, rolling her head like she’s getting at a crick in her neck. She seems pretty unperturbed.] Fin-ally! I was wondering when I’d get to go back home for a bit! Everyone else is always glubbing going back and forth. But oh! Jade!

[her face falls a bit] Oh right, Jade…

[please excuse the eridan (missing one fin, of course) over here just staring like he's seen a ghost. he had just started to accept her being gone, and now... he doesn't even know what to think.]

[Feferi smiles when she first sees him, relieved because- well, if she had been gone so long so much could happen. Her smile fades a bit when she notices the lack of a fin.]

Eridan! What happened? Your fin... [She frowns] Are you alright? Where are you??

[he stares for a few more moments before finally just switching over to audio. it's easier that way, maybe. hopefully. also lalala ignoring fef's questions. business as usual over here.]

...They took you. You're supposed to be dead.

[Feferi's going to stay in video, looking worried as all glub.] I wasn't! I just went home, I died on Derse but I got to meet Jade in her dreams! It wasn't long... only a few hours.

Eridan where are you? [worry worry worry]

[Feferi doesn't bother answering that, she hurries to his block. Two months? She was gone about two hours, that's how it felt. She swallows before knocking on the door, feeling a bit timid for the first time in front of his door. She didn't know what to expect.]

Eridan?

[it takes Eridan much longer to answer the door than it usually does, and when he finally opens it he has his scarf wrapped up to cover his missing fin again. he's also looking just about everywhere but at her, and not moving to let her in or anything, instead choosing to just stand awkwardly in the doorway.]

[In a rare moment of tact Feferi realizes she probably shouldn't hug Eridan right now. Of course she ignores that completely and hugs him anyway, and tightly.]

... I'm sorry, I never- Are you ok?

[he doesn't make any move to push her away or stop her, but he also makes absolutely no move to hug her back.]

Of course I'm okay. When am I not okay?

[She pulls back a bit, frowning slightly] I saw your face mister! Your fins...

It's been two months, and this place... Please Eridan, just be honest with me! I'm really glubbing worried.

And I'm really fine! Everythin's fine! Who cares that we thought you were dead, or that they almost fuckin' lobotomized us, or that I might as well be a goddamn land dweller now, everythin' is fine and you wouldn't even understand and I don't need you any more so just... fuck off and stop tryin' to shove your way back into my life.

[She steps back a moment, looking a little shocked and a little hurt before she frowns, expression going stubborn.]

... I'm not going to leave again, stupid.

...You don't know that. [and he turns right back around to go back to his room and flop in his chair. not that he closed the door or anything to keep her out or something, he doesn't want her to leave. he just. doesn't really want to talk, either.]

[She stays true to her word and walks right in, closing the door behind her. She watches him a moment before walking over and sitting on the ground next to his chair, leaning against it.]

I don't I guess, but I still mean it! Somehow.
