Amy-- where are you?

[The response isn't immediate, it takes a couple minutes, but finally her 'berry flickers on. Once again, Amy isn't in the shot but her breathing can be heard and she seems to be mumbling to herself.]

Right one...? Must have been. Doors unlocked... [The 'berry is slid across the floor, still showing the ceiling, but now Amy's voice is louder.]

Axel...? M-my room... Help...

Yeah-- [He shows up in her room a moment later in a swirl of darkness] Shit, Amy. [And he's down on his knees next to her, casting a Cure spell] You're a mess.

[Amy's cradling her left wrist against her chest, her fingers still wrapped tightly around the ragged wound there even though the bleeding has stopped. She lets out a shuttering breath and manages a week laugh.]

Yeah? Well, I'm feeling much better already. Could really do for a shower though. [Almost as soon as she'd swallowed the pill her fever had broken and now with the Cure spell she's feeling exceptionally good compared to the agony she was in a few minutes before.] Thank you.

I never knew you could heal. [She tries to sit up but any movement makes her dizzy so she slumps back onto the floor.]

[He grabs onto her shoulder, stopping her from collapsing completely] Sometimes I think it's the only reason they keep me around. You should probably get some rest before you do anything else.

And here I thought we only kept you around for your beautiful singing talent. [She laughs and smiles up at him.] I think you're probably right. Do you think you could help me get to the bed? I'm tired of lying in my own blood.

[She reaches a hand up to wipe some blood smeared on her cheek.] And maybe a towel to clean myself up a bit. [She hesitates for a moment as something occurs to her.]

I don't know why I'm asking since I know what kind of place this is but hope this doesn't bother you. [She gestures weakly at the swaths of smeared blood.] It's disgusting. You can leave, as soon as you want.

Yeah, right. You really think I care? Here, lemme get that towel so you don't hafta sleep in a bloody bed. [He smiles softly at her, ruffling her hair a little before getting up and grabbing a towel out of the bathroom. He kneels back down on the floor next to her, handing it over] Y'know, I've seen way worse than this since I've been here, you don't hafta worry about it.

[She just lies on the floor and watches as he crosses to the bathroom. She's very touched by his kindness and it does so much more than any healing spell could. She somehow manages to prop herself up against the wall before he comes back. She takes the towel with a quiet "Thank you" and starts by wiping the blood off her hands.]

Yeah, I guess. But I can't imagine it gets that much easier. [She's speaking just as much about herself as him.] I don't think I'd ever want to see the day where seeing something like this wouldn't even cause the slightest stir of revulsion. [Once she's finished with her hands she moves onto her face, keeping her eyes cast down.] Just because we see torture and suffering everyday, doesn't mean we ever have to accept it. [Her hands come to a halt when she feels the matted, bloody mess that is her hair.]

Ugh. I can't believe you actually touched this. [She laughs and finally looks back at him.]

[He chuckles, shaking his head] I'm really good at not caring about things. Comes with not having a heart. [He pushes himself up, holding a hand out to her] I still don't like it, but it makes me good at dealing with this kinda stuff.

[Amy takes his hand and uses it to pull herself to her feet. She squeezes her eyes shut and holds tight to Axel's arm as a dizzy spell takes hold of her. It passes after a moment. Never has she been so glad to be standing on her own two feet.]

Everything has its pros and cons, I guess. Now, did you know that the Doctor has two hearts?

Two? Heh, he should share. [He grins, dragging her arm over his shoulders]

I'm sure he would if he could. [She laughs and winces as the movement sends little stabs of pain through all of her freshly closed cuts. She takes a deep breath and focuses on carefully places one foot front of another.]

That's just how many Timelord's have. I once went to a planet where the inhabitants had two heads. I didn't get to meet any because they'd died off but that's not my point. They existed. And they had two heads! Imagine.

Now, I don't think having two heads or two hearts or no hearts is really all that important. We're all still people, yeah? Just different kinds.

There are some who didn't think Nobodies were people, but I'm pretty damn sure they were wrong. I mean, hell, I've been to a world with mermen, and one with talking lions. [He chuckles, just moving at her pace so she can get there]
