I was never a big fan of Westerns but this isn't so bad. So far. I don't trust how quiet it's been. [She's pretty much just waiting for the shit to hit the fan. It always does] Maybe that's just me being pessimistic. I'd rather be that and prepared than optimistic and regret it later though. Either way, if you somehow manage to get yourself into

Though yeah, I get what you mean about the quiet. If I see one more tumbleweed roll ominously across the road...

It's not a good sign, I think. They wouldn't just stick us in a completely harmless environment like this. There has to be something coming. This week has actually be sort of nice, so there has to be something bad on it's way. Especially when people have been relaxing and having parties.

I wasn't exactly a leaf on the wind, Babs. I was doing recon, scoping out the lay of the land on the off chance we might get a better idea what's out there. I did have my 'berry. I wasn't totally out of reach. And I found some supplies at least. Shame I missed the parties though.
You're right, it does feel like something's on it's way. Everything that's happened so far has ranged from disconcerting and uncomfortable to downright horrific. And I can't see them wasting a place like this on just disconcerting. Doesn't mean we can't enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts though, does it?

For future reference, wandering off by yourself isn't always the best plan. You may or may not need to be told that. But I'm telling you anyway.
I'm not as big on enjoying the peace as I am on being extremely suspicious of it. Nothing is ever as it seems so I'm willing to bet this is just the calm before the storm. Especially considering how good a mood everyone has been in so far this week. [Maybe when she isn't feeling so serious business, she'll tell you about Dick's chaps]
That's not really the reason I wanted to talk to you though.

Weird things like what? I'm not sure I'll be able to help but you never know.

Have you noticed anything strange at all this week?

No--and it's worrisome. It seems so normal it's almost scarier than it should be.

Well, Dick was running around the other night in chaps. Do you think that counts? He had a lasso too.
Worrisome is an understatement. The fact that it's so quiet makes me think that there's something coming. They wouldn't toss us somewhere peaceful. If anything, the quiet is just an attempt to make us feel secure before dropping something on us.

How have you been?

I've been...well, I guess. Things could be worse. How about you?

I have been better, but it has been that way for a few weeks now at best. [A pause.] Barbara, are you a fighter?

You could say that. I've had training in a few different types of martial arts. Why do you ask?
