Case 41//Harry Dresden//Video

Aug 08, 2011 19:42

[Harry's not looking quite as friendly as he normally does in his broadcasts. The wizard is fully buttoned up in his armored coat, and wearing heavy leather gloves in his hand. There's a knife handle poking out of one pocket, and he's got his staff. He appears to be standing in the common room of Suite five, which he's rearranged a bit. The couch ( Read more... )

C-can I come stay? I have some blankets and supplies I can bring...

I promise I'm not even a little sick. But I'm getting really scared...

Come on down, Rika. The door will be open for you, you just need to let Hazard check you out a little bit before you come in, ok?

[OOC: so, to be clear, she's not infected at all, or she is and no symptoms yet?]

[She cuts off the feed.]

[It's maybe about 20 minutes before she gets there, makeshift broken battle defense weapon in one hand and a blanket full of supplies slung over the other.

She's shaking a little, shifting from foot to foot.]

I could hear sick people in the other suites while I was walking...

[The little dog is leashed up near the door, and as soon as Harry's in he runs over to greet Rika, jumping up and wagging his tail happily. Harry locks the wards, and turns back around to see the two of them.]

Well, it looks like you're safe.

And nothing's going to get you here, Rika. I promise. You can set your bedding and stuff anywhere you like, there's a vacant room, there's out here, and there's my room to choose from. I guess technically the bathroom too, but that's really not optimal.

I'll stay out here for now, I think.

[She's going to provide the dog with a hug and plenty of scritches after she places her things down, giving him a little kiss on his doggy nose.]

What do you thinks going on...?

This isn't a natural disease they've put into us.

[Harry sits down on the couch, facing the door. He looks tired, but determined.]

It's a weapon. They're planning on using the disease as a weapon, and they're using us to test its effects. [He gives a little smile]

That means that if we can survive this, they'll probably have to scrap the project. It didn't work as well as they wanted.

We can hurt them, just by surviving.

[You're pulling a smile out of her now, too.]

I'll help you as much as I can, Harry. You look exhausted.

Not nearly as exhausted as I feel, trust me. Been a long day, been a lot of magic, and until we get things set up around here there ain't gonna be much time for sleeping.

[He leans forward, face in his hand, rubbing his eyes]

Those wards will need strengthening, and I need to arrange a watch cycle once everyone arrives. More animals would be nice, take some of the stress off poor Hazard, he'll probably be pretty jumpy by the end of this and we'll have to leash him near the door, just as an early warning... There's no way around that.

If there's any magic that can be done even by the less experienced, I'll help out, okay? Don't burden yourself too much.

And i'll ask around the network about pets for you.

Sorry, Rika, that's not how it works. Even if you did wind up being able to cultivate some talent, it'd take a lot of teaching before you could do anything substantial.

Just make sure people are comfortable and have room, and take stock of how much food and water we've got as people come in. We're gonna have to ration it, make sure we've got enough to last the week. Alright?
