I was, but someone patched me up. Justin Law snuck up behind us while we were trying to rescue Kid.

[ She pauses for a moment, trying to remember. Everything was so fuzzy after the first few blows, and the concussion that the priest had given her once she arrived was not helping the situation. ]

Next thing I knew I was in this white room but still injured and everything just gets hazy after that.

The others haven't been here as long, but I've been here...[Maybe she should lie...but no, it would be way to easy for her to find out the truth anyway, and it wouldn't be right.]

Um, just under eighteen months. But I've had friends and people I could count on the whole time. I was never alone.

Tch. It's unforgivable that they would do something like this.

It's better to stay away from Val. She's some sort of artificial intelligence but she can't be reasoned with. It's not worth trying.

The people in charge of her, the Consortium, is the real enemy, but they've never shown themselves.

[There's a pause as Maka considers how to answer this. Technically the worst that has happened to her here hadn't been at the hands of the Consortium, but she should probably let Marie know about what she's more likely to find out from others...and leave out everything else.]

They've done a lot to everybody here, but nothing I haven't bounced back from. Actually, I've had more trouble with some of the other people here. I was blinded for a month or so, but I also have a lot of healer friends, and it wasn't permanent!

You can't fight him Miss Marie. He can only be hurt by someone from the same world as him so fighting him is too dangerous. Besides, death isn't permanent here anyway.

With Stein here I'm sure he's nothing we couldn't handle. Besides if death isn't permanent, then it won't matter if I get hurt. Remember, I'm a Death Scythe. I can handle myself. [ Except against creeper priests. ]
