File 008 | Bucky Barnes [Accidental Video]

Jun 29, 2011 23:33

[When the video switches on accidentally, it's because the person has dropped his 'berry down by a tree in the biodome. It's propped up nearly perfectly - funny how these things work - to catch Bucky in the frame. He's moved several feet away from the camera, wearing workout clothes, sweatpants and a tanktop with sneakers. Not very stylish, but ( Read more... )

It's...nice to meet you, Bucky. I know of you from Dick, and some videos.

These things have their ups and downs, in terms of usefulness. Sometimes I just leave it in the room for convenience. In a desk-drawer.

...'m Raven.

[From the background of the shade of a tree, it is clear Raven is also in the bio-dome, but not entirely sure where. She is sitting on the ground, with the 'berry facing up at her.]

Ah, you're Raven? Heard about you from Power Girl and seen you around a little bit. [Fellow network stalker? To an extent, yep. He breaths out a sigh that almost sounds like a laugh and runs a hand through slightly damp hair.] I think I just dropped it this time. I don't really like to be without it, inconvenient as it is sometimes, just in case someone needs me.

That's about the only reason I keep mine around...then again, it's not usually hard to find chaos when it strikes in this place.

Feeling better, aside from the impromptu show?

[Is she teasing? maybe...is hard to tell with the deadpan tone. There MIGHT be a hint of a smirk or smile under the cowl.]

That's true, but I'm proving myself prone to playing referee and I don't want to be unavailable if I'm needed urgently. [A shrug, and he's casually slinging a towel around his neck, scenery changing a little as he moves.]

Hm? From last week? I'm guessing you saw that, anyway. Much better. Had Pain Disorder.

[There's a shrug, Raven not responding really.]

I had panic disorder...sure you saw mine on the network too. Wasn't fun, by any means. Referee is always a fun role...

[Yeah, she doesn't like playing it. Didn't like it much back home, either.]

[Bucky shrugs right back. He's slowly, casually moving through the biodome, tracking her for the fun of it. Really, he moves rather quietly for a man his size - lots of experience at it.]

I think I did. Wanted to come help, but I was also dealing with an attempted suicide and an amnesiac roommate on top of everything else. Wasn't a good week.

Honestly, I....was worried for anyone who did come. I'm glad Hit Girl wasn't hurt, and managed to keep to myself enough for all the others. Starfire got to see a few, but she's tough. You had your hands full with Tim...who was the suicide?

[Yes, she has a sickening feeling she knows who, but better to know for sure.]

I think I could have handled myself. [He sounds a little amused. He doesn't know the extent of her powers, but he's used to dealing with metas, and he's considered one of the most dangerous men in his world.] Tim was a real handful. The attempted suicide was Dick. Bastards gave him severe depression, so I camped out with him that week.

[It's a very long pause--no reaction showing. Which actually says a lot, really.]

That's...what I thought. I could feel it...but with the panic attacks, I was worried I'd have hurt him more. Thank you for staying with him, even though I'm sure it wasn't easy.

[He just shakes his head, idly peering around a set of bushes. Still lookin' for her, and he's closing in, though he's probably putting off a little bit of curiosity, a touch of amusement, because honing his tracking skills is a little bit fun.]

No one else really could, so I did what I had to. We capes and cowls have to stick together in a place like this. Take care of each other.

It's true enough...some of us are better at than others though, so...thank you.

[And you are reminding her so much of Robin...which is not a bad thing by any means.]

Also...

[The feed clicks off, and there is an amused laugh, Raven standing up and stretching. She's a couple of feet off, under the trees.]

You're good, but I'm a bit hard to sneak up on. Need to learn to dampen your emotions.

[Bucky turns immediately to look at her, finely honed instincts alerting him as soon as she actually moved. He manages a wry smile.] Well, dampening them is something I've never particularly wanted to do. Bad experiences. [Like those years the Russians basically took away from him the ability to feel much of anything at all.]

So you're an... empath of some sort? Is that the word?

It's the right word, and I suppose I can understand that--but it's still something you should learn to do, even if you don't want to.

[Another shrug, Raven not minding really. Hard to tell much about her, what with the concealing blue cloak.]

I'm an empath, with telekinetic and phasing abilities as well. Roughly.

[It was as good a description as any.]

Well, you let me know if there are any enemy empaths around here, and then I'll think about working on it. You'd... understand if you knew me, but it's a long story. [And one he doesn't tend to share with anyone.]

Hmm, bet those come in handy. I haven't really worked with someone with that sort of power set before. Although speedsters where I'm from can usually phase a bit.

[Doesn't bother Raven. She tries to not pry.]

So far I can't tell if anyone who has it is what you would outright call an 'enemy', but there are definitely some powerful and unstable people here. Ranges from outright evil to just predatory to crazy. Pretty sure Damian has a list, and I'm keeping one myself.

[There's a faint smirk.]

You probably already have a list yourself, for that matter.

[No sign of her 'berry, but she'll move closer. She's short, and still staying in her cloak.]

I walk and levitate through walls. 's bit more than what a speedster does, I think.

Oh, I'm sure there are, but I deal with powerful and unstable people on a daily basis where I'm from. [A slight smile.] I do have a list, and I'm sure Tim has one, too. I'm not too worried about it. [He probably puts off confidence all the time; he's clearly sure of his own ability.]

Hm? Well, you've never seen one of our speedsters vibrate right through solid objects. It's more molecular manipulation than actual phasing, but with similar results.
