If you drink alcohol when there's not a lot of water around, you're gonna get dehydrated and die. [This is what Izaya told him, anyway] And that thing is noisy and annoying.

Noisy, yes. Annoying? Well, it's possible I suppose, but there's certainly no risk of death. Plus, tons of us have water reserves. I have plenty to get me through the week.

Come on, Darc, throw on your favorite set of earmuffs and come enjoy yourself!

Yeah, I've got plenty of water, but I don't know that everyone else has, and they're not getting any of mine. [...Darc hates sharing...]

Hmm. Why would I wanna do that? There's probably gonna be a ton of people there. [Though he does have both earplugs and earmuffs, left over from hightened hearing week]

Ahhh, Darc, sharing is caring. [Harry nods sagely.] Of course there'll be a ton of people, that's the point! And possibly singing, and dancing, as well as getting drunk off our asses and generally enjoying ourselves. It's a party!

Maybe. But if its a choice between me dying of dehydration or someone else, I know who I'd choose. [Though...that isn't necessarily true, as Harry probably knows...]

[He frowns a bit...admittedly he had secretly rather liked the last party he had been dragged to, though not so much the repercussions from it. And a room full of drunk noisy people sounded a bit daunting]

And that's supposed to be fun because...?

Because when a large number of people get drunk together, many of them begin doing things that are ridiculous, much to the enjoyment of everyone else there who gets to watch. Parties are as much a spectator sport as a social event, if you're not the talking type.

That sounds confusing. I don't wanna end up doing ridiculous things...once was enough. And watching people fall over and make noise sounds like a very strange thing to enjoy. You humans are weird.

I wasn't gonna drink anything, I was just asking Harry to explain what's so good about being drunk and doing ridiculous stuff.

No thank you. I like staying sober. [And he said that firmly too, obviously far from pleased at the healer.] I would have thought a healer on call will know how to prioritized and stay sober. Do you realize how many people will get hurt this week?

[His turns his attention back to Darc.] There is nothing fun about losing your mind so don't even go anywhere near their party.

I think you know well as I do that I'm something of a "last resort" healer. My method's still in the making, and it's unpleasant as hell for the patient right now. I think we've got plenty of the magical green make-everything-better magic healers that I can take one night off.

Correction. There is everything fun about losing your mind. You just have to learn to laugh at yourself. If it's not for you, that's fine, but we're perfectly justified in having a little fun.

[Darc is looking a little moody by this point. He's already bored of staying in the suite - he is not the kind of person who deals well with inactivity - and even though it doesn't sound like something he would particularly enjoy, it might be better than doing nothing, even if all they do is watch other people make a fool of themselves. Not that he really expects Izaya to agree to it, given that the human is pretty antisocial himself, and he's promised Izaya he'll stay close to him all this week to make up for trying to gut him last week. But he's going to try and persuade him, anyway]

If we went, its not like we'd have to drink anything ourselves. We could just watch other people get drunk and do stupid stuff...think of it as entertainment~

[Izaya simply raises an eyebrow at the nonsense Harry is sprouting. Honestly, sometimes he finds himself wondering just how did some of these people survive by being so reckless.] And your training as a magician thought you nothing of dehydration caused by excessive alcohol intake. We are short of water and none of you take it into consideration? I dont care if you like suffering from hangover but I and Darc are having nothing to do with it.

[And he turns to stare at Darc, his words to Harry clearly is meant for Darc too.]
